2025 Fantasy Outlook
Shepard enjoyed a modest career renaissance in Tampa Bay in 2024 after a pair of forgettable final seasons with the Giants, posting a 32-334-1 line over 14 regular-season games while working with college teammate Baker Mayfield as his quarterback. The veteran wideout helped make up for Chris Godwin's injury-shortened season and even put together two 50-yard-plus performances, but it remains to be seen if there will be a spot for him on an appreciably deeper 2025 wide receiver depth chart. RANKS
Minimal production in Week 13 win
Shepard brought in one of two targets for five yards in the Buccaneers' 20-17 win over the Cardinals on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
With Chris Godwin upping his involvement in his second game back from an extended absence and Tez Johnson functioning as the clear No. 3 receiver, Shepard saw just 16 snaps (26 percent) and was minimally involved. The veteran wideout's drop in playing time was alarming, considering he'd played over 40 snaps in each of the previous three games. Moreover, with Mike Evans (IR, collarbone) reportedly making progress toward a return and Godwin likely to continue ramping up in coming games, Shepard may be consistently relegated to No. 4 receiver status down the stretch.

Shepard recovered from a torn Achilles suffered during the 2021 season in time to play in Week 1 last year, but his campaign ended with another devastating injury when he tore his ACL in Week 3. The Giants liked his production enough, when healthy, to re-sign him during the offseason, but the "when healthy" qualification looms large because the wideout has played in more than 12 games just once since he was a rookie in 2016. There's no guarantee that Shepard will be ready to go by the opener of the coming season, and even if he is, his role is uncertain. New York is loaded with slot receivers and may prefer to give youngsters Wan'Dale Robinson and Jalin Hyatt more run than the 30-year-old Shepard.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Good chance to remain involved
Shepard, who's posted an 11-153-0 line on 15 targets over the first three games of the season, has a good chance of remaining the Buccaneers' No. 3 receiver for several more games due to Mike Evans' projected absence because of a hamstring injury, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
ANALYSIS
Shepard and Baker Mayfield first established a connection back in their college days at Oklahoma, and the veteran signal-caller was reportedly the main impetus for Shepard to emerge from retirement last season. The 32-year-old wideout returned on a one-year deal this offseason and has been a key complementary contributor in the early-season absences of Chris Godwin and Jalen McMillan due to ankle and neck injuries, respectively. While Godwin seems on his way to making his season debut in Sunday's Week 4 matchup against the Eagles, Evans' projected multi-game absence should keep Shepard relevant as the No. 3 receiver behind Godwin and Emeka Egbuka.
