Emeka Egbuka

23-Year-Old Wide ReceiverWR
2025 Fantasy Outlook
For his long-term projection, Egbuka did well to land in Tampa Bay with the 19th overall pick, joining a franchise with a solid quarterback and a strong recent track record of success and production. Egbuka's Year 1 fantasy projection is also on the up and up, with Chris Godwin (ankle) missing all of training camp and Jalen McMillan (neck) expected to miss at least the first month of the regular season. Like his new teammates in Tampa's talented WR room, Egbuka is no burner, having run a 4.45 40 at his pro day after averaging 14.0 yards per catch on a school-record 205 receptions at Ohio State, where he played more than two-thirds of his snaps from the slot. At 6-foot-1, 202, Egbuka won't necessarily be limited to the slot in the NFL, potentially offering inside-out versatility (like Godwin). Reports from training camp had been glowing even before Godwin's prolonged absence and McMillan's injury gave Egbuka a clearer path to the No. 2 WR role in Week 1. Read Past Outlooks

Quiet finish to rookie season
WRTampa Bay Buccaneers
January 5, 2026
Egbuka brought in one of three targets for eight yards in the Buccaneers' 16-14 win over the Panthers on Saturday. He finished the 2025 regular season with 63 receptions for 938 yards and six touchdowns on 127 targets and two rushes for nine yards over 17 games.
ANALYSIS
Egbuka was thrust into a significant role from Day 1 of his rookie season, as the Buccaneers began the campaign without Chris Godwin and Jalen McMillan due to ankle and neck injuries, respectively. The Ohio State product looked like an instant star after posting a 25-445-5 line on 38 targets over his first five career games, but Egbuka topped 64 receiving yards just once in the remaining 12 contests despite Mike Evans and Godwin missing significant time, and McMillan not making his season debut until Week 15. Nevertheless, there isn't any doubt about Egbuka's talent after he still nearly eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark in his first season, and he could be set for a similar elevated target share in 2026 if Godwin isn't retained this offseason.

Top-two rookie WR despite slump
WRTampa Bay Buccaneers
January 8, 2026
Egbuka is a top-two wide receiver on the 2025 NFL All-Rookie team compiled by Dane Brugler of The Athletic.
ANALYSIS
Egbuka held onto a starting spot on Brugler's team despite a poor second half of the season, as Egbuka didn't score a touchdown during the final eight games of the 2025 campaign and reached 50 receiving yards in only one game during that stretch. The first half of Egbuka's rookie season was electric, though, and the 19th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft still finished second among all first-year players with 938 receiving yards and six touchdown catches.
