2025 Fantasy Outlook
Pierce has seen his usage and production steadily decline after his surprising rookie season in 2022 with the Texans. Last year was the nadir, as he saw action in only five regular-season games split between Houston and Kansas City and was given just 14 carries. Pierce sports a solid profile as an early-down back and has broken plenty of tackles since entering the NFL, but his lack of speed or reliable passing-down skills limits his utility. The Florida product signed a one-year contract with the Eagles this offseason, and he'll compete for depth snaps behind Saquon Barkley with Tank Bigsby and Will Shipley. Bigsby and Pierce have similar builds and skill sets, and there might be room for only one of them on the roster as an occasional short-yardage option whenever Barkley needs a breather. ANALYSIS
Pierce, who logged a combined 14 carries for 36 yards in five regular-season contests (four with the Texans and one with the Chiefs) in 2025, has seen his workload decrease in each of his last three seasons following his rookie campaign with Houston in 2022, during which recorded 220 carries in 13 games. With the Eagles, he'll compete with Tank Bigsby and Will Shipley for complementary backfield touches behind top back Saquon Barkley.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2024
2023
2022
The 2023 season was a real bummer for Pierce, especially after he looked so great as a rookie fourth-round pick in 2022. Unfortunately for Pierce, his 2023 struggles were so profoundly bad that it's difficult to remember the 2022 version that ran for 939 yards in 13 games prior to a season-ending foot injury. Averaging 2.9 yards per carry will eventually get a running back sent to the bench, and possibly for good, so Pierce really needs a strong showing this summer if he's even going to earn the backup role to potential three-down workhorse Joe Mixon. A lack of sturdy competition in Houston's backfield -- rookie sixth-round pick Jawhar Jordan and passing-down back Dare Ogunbowale are the other main names -- doesn't mean Pierce will be safe in his backup role if he looks as bad as he did last year.

ANALYSIS
According to Wilson, Pierce also had offers from the Chargers, Broncos, Bears, Eagles, Colts and Bengals, as well as interest from the Dolphins, but the former Texans running back has opted to join the Chiefs organization. Pierce will try to earn a role in a Kansas City backfield that has been operating without Isiah Pacheco in recent weeks due to a knee injury.
