A neck injury limited the third-year receiver to just five games with the Eagles in 2024, and he posted just seven catches for 34 yards. Covey also lost his role as a return man after producing 961 combined return yards in his first two years in the league. A change of scenery in Los Angeles gives Covey a chance to regain a return role if he can usurp Xavier Smith for the job. Covey appeared in every game for the Eagles last season but almost exclusively played on special teams, seeing the field for just 19 total offensive snaps. He was the team's primary punt return man and finished second in kick returns but did not break 30 yards with any of his combined 43 returns. The second-year player is buried down the wideout depth chart this season and is unlikely to be a factor in the passing game.
