2025 Projections
2025 Fantasy Outlook
The Patriots and Rams made serious efforts to trade for Brown this offseason, with New England ultimately emerging victorious at the cost of a 2028 first-round pick and a 2027 fifth-rounder. Brown becomes the unquestioned No. 1 target in a Drake Maye-led offense that projects for a lot more passing production than what Philadelphia offered the past few years. Brown is entering his age-29 season, but he didn't quite play up to his usual standard last year, potentially marking the start of his decline phase. He averaged at least 83 yards per game in each of his first three years with the Eagles before dropping to 66.9 YPG (still a strong number by most standards) in 2025. He won't come cheap in fantasy drafts after teaming up with Maye, but Brown's 2026 price still represents a slight discount compared to the past few years. Read Past Outlooks
RANKS
Headed to Patriots
The Eagles are trading Brown to the Patriots, Evan Lazar of the team's official site reports. Per Mike Reiss of ESPN.com, New England is sending a 2028 first-round pick and 2027 fifth-round pick to Philadelphia in exchange for the wideout.
ANALYSIS
Following months of speculation, the two sides have finally reached a deal to send the 28-year-old wideout to New England. Waiting until June 1 always made sense for the Eagles, as doing so allows the team to spread Brown's $43.5 million dead-cap hit over the next two seasons, rather than absorbing it all this year. In anticipation of the move, this offseason Philadelphia bolstered a WR corps (which continues to feature DeVonta Smith) by adding Dontayvion Wicks in a trade, Hollywood Brown and Elijah Moore via free agency, as well as selecting Makai Lemon 20th overall in the 2026 NFL Draft. From the Patriots' perspective, Brown reunites with Mike Vrabel -- who coached him in Tennessee - and gives ascending young QB Drake Maye a legitimate No. 1 option in a wide receiver corps that also includes Romeo Doubs, Kayshon Boutte, Mack Hollins, DeMario Douglas and Kyle Williams. Steady weekly volume should be the norm for Brown in his new uniform, which puts the 2019 second-rounder in a position to continue to be a reliable fantasy producer this coming season.

Brown's two years in Philadelphia have resulted in the two largest receiving yardage totals in franchise history, yet his 2023 ultimately felt like a disappointment on account of so much of the production coming in September/October before the Eagles collapsed down the stretch. He ripped off six straight games with at least 127 yards Weeks 3-8, then had just two TDs and one 100-yard outing the rest of the year despite averaging 9.4 targets Weeks 9-17. The cherry on top was an absence from Philadelphia's playoff loss to Tampa -- his first missed game since 2021 -- due to a knee injury that isn't expected to impact his offseason preparations. Brown called in to a Philadelphia radio station in February to shut down trade rumors (which always seemed dubious) and then signed a three-year extension in April. He'll enter his age-27 season working under newly hired offensive coordinator Kellen Moore, who had a rough 2023 for the injury-riddled Chargers and is expected to call the plays in Philadelphia (just as former OC Brian Johnson did). Moore likely will try to keep WR DeVonta Smith more involved after the target gap between him and Brown widened considerably between 2022 and 2023, but that might be at the expense of other players more so than coming out of Brown's slice of the pie. Brown's combination of age, talent and rapport with QB Jalen Hurts would seem to make him one of the safer options among players commonly selected in the late first round or early second round of fantasy drafts.

Thrilled to join Patriots
Following his first practice with the Patriots on Tuesday, Brown expressed elation about having been traded to New England, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown famously remarked after the practice that while he knew New England wasn't heaven, "it's close to it." The veteran wideout, who was traded from the Eagles to the Patriots on Monday for a 2028 first-round pick and a 2027 fifth-round pick, said he was extremely disappointed when the team passed on him in the 2019 NFL Draft, as he'd dreamt of playing with Tom Brady. However, he added his arrival in New England was "right on time" and emphasized there was no issue with the knee that gave him trouble throughout last season in Philadelphia.
