2025 Fantasy Outlook
Dotson spent all of last season as the Eagles' third wide receiver in an offense that doesn't share many targets beyond the top pairing of A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. As a result, his numbers took a big hit, as he finished the regular season with 19 catches for 216 yards and no touchdowns after recording 49 catches for 518 yards and four scores the season prior in Washington. Seven of his 19 catches came in Week 18, with the Eagles' starters resting, meaning he averaged just 0.75 catches per game in his usual third wideout role, the same one he'll be filling this season. ANALYSIS
Dotson was limited in the first two practices of Week 14 prep due to a toe injury, but his return to all activity Saturday has him in the clear for Monday. In 12 games this season, he's had a few splash plays but mustered just a cumulative 11-206-1 line on 21 targets while working behind the top WR duo of A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith.

2022
A 2022 first-round pick, Dotson had an interesting first two years in the league. As a rookie, he averaged 2.9 catches, 43.6 yards and 0.58 TDs in 12 games. Last year, Dotson played all 17 games and again averaged 2.9 catches but made far fewer big plays (he averaged only 30.0 yards and 0.24 TDs per game). Part of the issue was poor coaching and QB play, though that was perhaps true both seasons and doesn't necessarily explain the drop off between Years 1 and 2. The Commanders weren't sold on a bounce back and ultimately traded Dotson and a fifth-round pick to the division-rival Eagles on Aug. 22 for a third-round selection and two seventh-rounders. While the change of scenery might do him some good, Dotson now finds himself competing for the No. 3 receiver role in an offense that figures to be heavily focused on WRs A.J. Brown and Devonta Smith, RB Saquon Barkley and TE Dallas Goedert. Any real-life benefit for the young wideout won't necessarily materialize in terms of fantasy value.
The 16th overall pick in 2022, Dotson scored four TDs in his first four games before missing the next five with a hamstring injury and doing next to nothing his first three weeks after returning. Everything then clicked down the stretch, with the Penn State product averaging 4.2 catches for 68.8 yards and 0.6 TDs on 7.0 targets the final five weeks. He finished the year at 14.9 YPR and 8.6 YPT, and the way he did it wasn't what you'd expect from a guy who'd run a 4.43 40 at 178 pounds. While his speed was a factor, Dotson also thrived on contested balls, including a bunch of plays where he got open and then had to come back to catch an imperfect pass from Carson Wentz or Taylor Heinicke. The plan this year is for fellow second-year pro Sam Howell to join Dotson in the lineup at quarterback, with Jacoby Brissett the backup plan. Terry McLaurin remains a strong favorite to lead the team in targets, but it could be close after Dotson had a 35-34 advantage the final five weeks last year. There's room for both to stay busy, even with Curtis Samuel as a strong No. 3, considering the Commanders don't have a serious receiving threat at tight end for new OC Eric Bieniemy.
Dotson is the first-round rookie wideout most likely to be overlooked in fantasy drafts. That's partially because he was a second-rounder in most mock drafts, and partially because he landed in a Washington offense with Carson Wentz at quarterback and Terry McLaurin as the No. 1 receiver. The recent history of poor organizational management doesn't help, to say the least, and competition for targets could be tough this year if WR Curtis Samuel and TE Logan Thomas manage to get healthy and stay that way. On the other hand, Dotson is a strong prospect if you press pause on the noise around him, coming out of Penn State with 2,757 career receiving yards, including 2,066 (and 20 TDs) in 21 games in his final two seasons. That production — about 100 yards and a TD per game — puts him right in line with other first-round wideouts, as does his 4.43 40-yard dash from the 2022 Combine. Dotson's a bit on the thin side at 5-11, 182, but he has the speed and polish to push for No. 2 WR status in Washington early in the season.

Bumping up to No. 2 spot
WRPhiladelphia Eagles
October 24, 2025
Dotson will serve as the Eagles' No. 2 receiver in Sunday's Week 8 matchup against the Giants as part of the ripple effect of A.J. Brown being ruled for the contest due to a hamstring injury, per Tim McManus of ESPN.com.
ANALYSIS
Dotson has once again played a bit role in the offense through the first seven games, even after starting the season in encouraging fashion with a 3-59-0 line against the Cowboys in Week 1. Since that contest, Dotson has just four receptions for 52 yards on nine targets, but he'll be poised for his best opportunity of the season yet against New York. Dotson didn't see any benefit from Brown's absences in Weeks 2-4 last season, although he did record a season-best 7-94-0 line on 11 targets in Week 18 when both Brown and DeVonta Smith sat out.
