Patterson (foot) is suffering from a hernia and had to undergo a procedure on his groin, according to manager David Moyes. "[Patterson] has had a small procedure on his groin so he's obviously not available for this game."

Patterson suffered a plantar facia tear in his foot and will miss a couple of weeks, coach David Moyes said in the press conference. "Patto had a plantar facia tear in his foot which he picked up against Bradford for the Under-21s. It'll probably keep him out for a couple of weeks. In that period, he's had a problem with his hernia, so we're probably going to get it tidied up while he's out."

Patterson is questionable for Saturday's match against Manchester City due to an injury, according to manager David Moyes. "Unfortunately, Patto picked up an injury for the Under-21s in midweek, so we've got bits and pieces going on, but all the clubs will be the same."
