Tommy DeVito

Tommy DeVito

27-Year-Old QuarterbackQB
New England Patriots
2025 Fantasy Outlook
DeVito got some chances to start during his first two NFL campaigns, including twice last season. His 70 percent completion rate was fine, but he averaged just 5.8 YPA with zero touchdowns. DeVito's previous looks came due to a lack of depth and talent in New York's QB room, but that shouldn't be an issue this season with the additions of veterans Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston along with first-round rookie Jaxson Dart. It's hard to find a scenario in which DeVito sees much action for the Giants. Read Past Outlooks

2023
DeVito enjoyed a brief Cinderella run after taking over for the injured Daniel Jones as the Giants' starting quarterback in Week 10 of the 2023 season, with his most memorable performance being a 246-yard, three-touchdown performance against Washington in Week 11. The glimmer eventually faded, however, and by Week 16 the undrafted 25-year-old had given way to Tyrod Taylor as New York's top signal-caller. Taylor signed with the Jets in the offseason, but Jones is expected to be ready to return for the start of the coming campaign, and the Giants added Drew Lock to presumably take over as their No. 2 QB, so DeVito could begin the season on the practice squad.
DeVito was thrust into starting action for Syracuse during the 2019 season, completing 63.2 percent of his passes for 2,360 yards with a 19:5 TD:INT, but he was relegated to backup duties in back-to-back campaigns before transferring to Illinois in 2022. He showcased his skills in a full-time role, posting a 69.6 completion percentage for 2,650 yards with a 15:4 TD:INT. DeVito will be the No. 3 quarterback on the Giants' depth chart behind Daniel Jones and Tyrod Taylor.

Another big-name QB joins roster
QBNew York Giants
March 26, 2025
DeVito is now sharing the Giants' quarterback depth chart with both Jameis Winston and Russell Wilson, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
DeVito has gone from being the sole quarterback on the roster less than a week ago to sharing the room with a one-time first overall pick and a Super Bowl winner in Winston and Wilson, respectively. The depth chart will get exponentially more intriguing if the Giants still opt to select Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders with their first-round pick in April's draft, but in such a scenario, DeVito could conceivably have an advantage over a veteran like Winston due to the former's minuscule $1.030 million cap hit for next season.
