2025 Fantasy Outlook
Even with Erick All missing half the season and even with the Bengals running more formations with two tight ends on the field, Hudson saw far fewer offensive opportunities in 2024, managing just 113 offensive snaps, while converting those into 19 catches for 154 yards and a touchdown. Mike Gesicki has been brought back into the fold for the Bengals, so even if All misses the entire season with his torn ACL, Hudson won't be a frequent target for the Bengals. Read Past Outlooks
Inks contract extension
Hudson and the Bengals agreed to a one-year contract extension Monday.
ANALYSIS
Hudson played in 15 games for Cincinnati during the 2025 campaign, posting a 19-168-2 receiving line that was a near carbon copy of his 19-154-1 line from 2024, though he saw action in just 11 regular-season contests during that 2024 campaign. His past two seasons have paled in comparison to his 2023 campaign when he recorded 39 catches on 50 targets for 352 yards a touchdown across 12 regular-season games, but the Bengals value his contributions enough to keep in the fold for at least another season. Mike Gesicki will likely remain Cincinnati's No. 1 tight end next year, but Hudson could fill a bigger role if Noah Fant, who is slated to be a free agent, doesn't return.

2024 Fantasy Outlook
Hudson appeared in only 12 games last season but still wound up leading all Bengals tight ends in targets (50), catches (39) and receiving yards (352). While the 29-year-old tight end was a nice story in 2023, Hudson had just 199 career receiving yards heading into the season and began the year on Cincinnati’s practice squad before being promoted due to poor play from the team’s alternative options at the position. The Bengals signed Mike Gesicki in the offseason, and Gesicki figures to beat out Hudson for opportunities in passing situations, while Drew Sample’s a better blocker than either of them. If Gesicki underperforms like the Bengals’ tight ends did last season, Hudson could get another chance to step up.

Shows out in preseason opener
Paul Dehner of The Athletic relays that Hudson's chances of making the Bengals' 53-man roster improved dramatically due to his performance in Thursday's 34-27 preseason loss to the Eagles.
ANALYSIS
Hudson got an extended run during Thursday's preseason opener due to the absences of Mike Gesicki, Noah Fant and Erick All. Though Hudson wasn't the starter, he ended up playing 39 snaps, including 24 on offense, and he took advantage of his playing time to finish with six catches on eight targets for 62 yards and two touchdowns. Despite the addition of Fant, Hudson is making a strong case for himself to make the Bengals' 53-man roster at the end of training camp as a backup tight end.
