Box Score Breakdown: Week 16 Snaps, Routes & Personnel Usage

This article is part of our Exploiting the Matchups series.

Make sure to keep up with NFL breaking news and updates to NFL projections and injury reports throughout the week. If you're looking for target and air-yard shares that only include active games, you can find those updated every Tuesday on RotoWire's advanced receiving stats page. The percentages found below in our advanced box scores include all games, even if the player didn't participate.

Stat Table Key

Weekly stats (first six columns)

  • Snap = % of team snaps that player was on the field for
  • Route = route share (routes run  |  QB dropbacks)
  • RUSHING = rushing line
  • RECEIVE = receiving line
  • Tgt = targets
  • AY = Air Yards

2025 Season Stats (final five columns)

  • Sn'25 = snap share for the season
  • Rt'25 = route share for the season
  • TPRR = Targets per Route Run
  • TS = Percentage of team's targets
  • AYS = Percentage of team's air yards

The final five columns of each stat table below (written in italics) show numbers for the entire season. Bold lettering denotes especially strong marks relative to positional standards. Green lettering for the weekly stats denotes considerable increases in playing time and/or usage relative to past weeks. Red lettering denotes the opposite a decreased role relative to prior games.

  • RB Blake Corum scored a one-yard TD right after a turnover, but Kyren Williams finished with his largest snap share (71%) since Week 6 and his most carries (23) since Week 9.
    • Williams got 29 of 45 RB opportunities (64%), which is a slightly larger share compared to recent weeks, but the real driver of his increase in touches was simply overall team volume (the Rams ran 88 plays, 43% above the league average of 61.7 per team game).
  • WR Puka Nacua played 81% of snaps and handled an 88% route share, while no other Rams wideout finished above 44% snap share (Konata Mumpfield) or 52% route share (other than Mumpfield).
    • In addition to his pair of touchdowns, Nacua was tackled at the 1-yard line after a five-yard gain, and then later at the 4-yard line after a 58-yard catch. He did then score a one-yard TD shortly after the big play.
    • It appears none of the Rams' backup wideouts will be fantasy-relevant in Adams' absence, even for deep leagues. Xavier Smith made a big play, and again ran ahead of Whittington/Atwell, but Smith finished at just 35% route share and two targets.
  • TE Colby Parkinson led LA's skill-position players with an 85% snap share, but rookie Terrance Ferguson actually ran one more route (34 to 33) and scored a TD.
    • Parkinson had a rough night, dropping two of his five targets. He also took just three of the 12 snaps on 3rd-and-medium/long, with Ferguson getting the other nine.
      • Parkinson took 59% of snaps in 11 personnel and 100% in 13 personnel, plus he and Davis Allen got each of the three snaps in 12 personnel (a look the Rams haven't used much this year).
      • Ferguson took 41% of snaps in 11 personnel and 100% in 13 personnel.

  • Usage shares were largely similar to recent games, only with Cooper Kupp (92% snaps, 87% routes) getting a bit more playing time at the expense of Rashid Shaheed (54% snaps, 58% routes).
    • Kupp nonetheless had a bad night, with 3-39-0 and a lost fumble. Shaheed returned a punt for a TD and took a rush attempt for 31 yards, making up for a lack of targets (one) and catches (zero).
  • Zach Charbonnet scored a four-yard TD on Seattle's opening drive after Kenneth Walker gained 46 yards on a catch-and-run, but Walker found his way to the end zone later on another big play, taking a carry for a 55-yard TD on the opening drive of the second half.
    • Charbonnet got more snaps (56%) than Walker (43%) for a second straight week, after Walker had the advantage in each of Seattle's first six games following a Week 8 bye. However, Charbonnet's slight edge in playing time was at least partially a product of Seattle having a bunch of hurry-up / catch-up situations the past two weeks. Walker was still the lead runner early on in both games.

  • RB Tank Bigsby's four carries all occurred after Barkley's 22 and final rush attempt, though Barkley did score a two-point conversion after Bigsby's 22-yard TD run with 4:26 remaining in the fourth quarter.

  • QB Josh Johnson replaced Marcus Mariota (quad/hand) midway through the third quarter
  • RB Chris Rodriguez got the start and took all four carries on the opening drive, gaining 3, 5, 6 and 3 yards before Washington got down to the 2-yard line and threw back-to-back incompletions (followed by a 19-yard FG... boo). Jeremy McNichols mixed in for a couple of touches on the second drive (Rodriguez got another carry), with Jacory Croskey-Merritt then getting most of the work on the third and fourth series, including a one-yard TD run on his second straight attempt from the 1-yard line after Rodriguez converted a 4th-and-1 from the 2-yard line.
    • Croskey-Merritt finished the first half with a 39% snap share and eight carries, while Rodriguez had a 36% snap share and six carries. Jeremy McNichols played 25% of snaps and had one carry and one target.
    • In the second half, Rodriguez played 72% of snaps and took all nine RB carries, including a three-yard TD in garbage time with 1:46 remaining (an ensuing two-point conversion by Jeremy McNichols made the score 29-18). More than half of his rushing yardage also came on that drive, with Washington running the ball a bunch despite being down multiple scores throughout the second half.
      • Croskey-Merritt didn't play a single snap in the second half, after dominating the snaps and scoring a TD during the second quarter. No injury was reported, but it's possible that's what happened.
  • WRs Terry McLaurin and Deebo Samuel both had 96% route shares, with Treylon Burks (88%) not too far behind.
    • WR Jaylin Lane suffered an ankle injury after playing just one snap on offense. Lane's absence was likely at least a small factor in Burks' increased playing time, after both had similar snap shares the week before.
    • Burks led the team in targets (five), though it amounted to just 2-30-0.

  • The Packers are going to be an absolute disaster to deal with for Fantasy Super Bowl week. The good news? They're playing on Saturday again, which makes it easier to adjust if there are relevant game-time decisions.
  • QB Jordan Love suffered a concussion on a huge hit in the first half and missed the rest of the game. His replacement, Malik Willis, later suffered a shoulder injury, though he never left the game.
    • Eight different Packers took carries in the game, including three WRs and three RBs. Willis was one of three Packers with double-digit rush attempts.
  • RB Josh Jacobs played just two snaps after losing a fumble near the goal line midway through the third quarter. Matt LaFleur said the lack of playing time wasn't a punishment for the fumble, nor was it due to Jacobs playing through knee and ankle injuries. The fumble obviously was a factor, regardless of what LaFleur says, given that Jacobs has otherwise never been buried like this in a tight game for the Packers.
    • At the time of his fumble, Jacobs had taken 52% of snaps, with 12 of 19 RB carries and both of the RB targets (14 of 21 overall opportunities, i.e., two-thirds).
    • After Jacobs' fumble, RB Emanuel Wilson played 81% of snaps and got all seven RB opportunities (seven carries for 41 yards)
    • The concern here isn't the Jacobs' quasi-benching will carry over to Week 17 because of one fumble. The concern is that he's just not his self while playing through a knee injury, which could then mean more work going to Wilson again.
  • WR Romeo Doubs had his best receiving game in a long time, but he then injured his wrist late in the fourth quarter while messing up an onsides kick recovery. Oops.
  • WR Jayden Reed and TE Luke Musgrave tied for the team lead in route share (81%), ahead of WR Christian Watson (73%), Doubs (69%), Dontayvion Wicks (31%) and Matthew Golden (23%).
    • Musgrave tied a season high with 76% snap share, in part because TE Josh Whyle (concussion) was inactive and TE John FitzPatrick left in the second half with an Achilles injury.
    • Reed played 85% of the snaps in three/four-wide formations, but he got just one snap otherwise, still not getting work in heavier looks. Granted, the Packers need healthy tight ends in order to use those formations outside of end-game / goal-line situations.
  • Watson's playing time didn't suffer much, if at all, after his early exit the previous week. But he did finish with a poor receiving line again, running into a wall the past two weeks between Reed's return, Watson's injury and now Love's injury (plus a matchup with Patrick Surtain in Week 15).

  • RB Kyle Monangai played 42% of snaps and took 12 touches for 93 yards, essentially returning to his 55/45 timeshare with D'Andre Swift after Monangai kind of disappeared post-halftime the week before.
  • WRs DJ Moore (95% snap share) and Olamide Zaccheaus (85%) were regulars in both 11 and 12 personnel. TE Colston Loveland wasn't too far behind in terms of route share (82%), nor was TE Cole Kmet (74%). Moore was the only Bear to finish with more than five targets or 43 receiving yards, and he scored most of his points on the walk-off TD.
    • No. 3 receiver Jahdae Walker scored a TD and had another clutch reception, but his 27% route share ranked just seventh on the team, behind both TEs and both RBs (in addition to Moore/Zaccheaus).

  • Ray Davis got three carries on three straight plays at the end of the third quarter / start of the fourth. He also saw a few targets, with James Cook's role not quite as dominant as the previous few games even though Cook scored two TDs in the first half.
    • Ty Johnson's three carries also came on three straight plays, with the third of those being his two-yard TD run early in the second quarter.

  • RB Quinshon Judkins suffered a fibula fracture and dislocated ankle late in the second quarter, leaving Raheim Sanders and Trayveon Williams to share backfield work afterward (Dylan Sampson was inactive with a hamstring injury, and Jerome Ford is out for the season).
    • In the second half, Sanders played 53% of snaps, with 10 carries and one target yielding 44 yards.
      • Williams played 47% of snaps and took three carries and three targets for 37 yards.
    • Judkins had a season-high six targets at the time of his exit, with 13 touches for 51 yards, while Sanders had just one carry at the time and Williams just one target.
    • Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer is reporting an estimated recovery timeline of 4-6 months, but that doesn't mean Judkins will be 100% come Week 1 of 2026. Chris Godwin still isn't close to his 2024 form, now 14 months removed from a similar injury.
  • TE Harold Fannin again handled an every-down role, scoring one TD through the air and another as a ballcarrier from a RB alignment. His six targets tied for the team high.
  • WR Cedric Tillman played 49% of snaps after being quasi-benched/injured last week, but he drew just one target.
  • WR Malachi Corley picked up more playing time at the expense of Gage Larvadain and Isaiah Bond, making the most of it with five touches for 41 yards (though his four targets produced just 11 yards).

  • RB De'Von Achane played 93% of snaps before the fourth quarter, with 14 of 19 RB opportunities for 77 yards and a TD. He added a few more touches early in Q4 but was rested toward the end of the game, which helped Jaylen Wright score a TD.
    • Wright was clearly ahead of Ollie Gordon (one carry) again, with Gordon's lone tote being a 3rd-and-2 (stuffed for a loss) on the opening drive.

  • The Chiefs ran just 43 plays, struggling to hold possession with Gardner Minshew exiting early due to a knee injury.
    • QB Chris Oladokun finished 11 of 16 for 111 yards, but with four sacks that lost a combined 44 yards.
  • RB Isiah Pacheco took on more playing time at Kareem Hunt's expense, jumping to 72% snap share and 71% route share while easily leading the team in carries (eight, compared to Hunt's three), targets (seven) and total yards (75 yards).
  • WR Jalen Royals barely played even with both Rashee Rice and Tyquan Thornton inactive due to concussion. Instead, JuJu Smith-Schuster played 93% of snaps while catching just one of four targets.

  • Elic Ayomanor, Chimere Dike and Chig Okonkwo had lower-than-usual snap shares, but only because the Titans sat on a lead for the first time all year and thus deployed heavy formations more often. Roles were otherwise as usual, with efficiency much better than usual.
    • Okonkwo and Tyjae Spears easily had their best fantasy games of the season, with Spears and Tony Pollard both topping 100 yards while maintaining their timeshare. There was only one true garbage-time carry, which went to Pollard to get him over 100 yards. The two RBs otherwise split work right up until the end.

  • RB Bucky Irving played 61% of snaps and took 19 of 28 RB carries, but he didn't get any targets and saw the short touchdowns go to RB Sean Tucker and WR Mike Evans.
  • WRs Emeka Egbuka and Chris Godwin both saw small dips in snap/route share relative to Week 15, with Mike Evans and Jalen McMillan picking up a bit more playing time. Each of the four finished in the range of 56-64% snap share, but with significant variations in route share - 86% for Godwin, 79% for Evans, 64% for McMillan, and just 46% for Egbuka.
    • Evans led the team in targets for a second straight week and scored a goal-line TD.

    • RB Audric Estime took 57% of snaps and a 55% route share, but with just five carries for 19 yards, plus 3-17-0 receiving on four targets.
    • RB Evan Hull played 21% of snaps and took five carries (all before the fourth quarter).
  • WR Kevin Austin was the starting wideout across from Chris Olave, who put up 10-148-2 with a league-high 244 air yards.

  • RB Michael Carter was the lead back but didn't have a dominant role, taking 54% of snaps and 13 of 25 RB opportunities (52%) while sharing work with both Emari Demercado and Corey Kiner.
  • WR Marvin Harrison didn't quite have his usual role, with 50% snap share, 61% route share and just three targets. One of those was a jump ball into the end zone that he nearly corralled.
    • Michael Wilson's snap/route shares were the same as usual. His issue for fantasy, after a lucky/spectacular TD grab early on, was that all of Arizona's targets went to the tight ends (and not just Trey McBride).
  • TE Elijah Higgins put up 7-91-0 with season highs for route share (79%) and targets (eight). The Cardinals might be on to something with a pass-heavy offense built around McBride/Harrison/Wilson/Higgins in "12 personnel" (with two catch-first TEs), but they'd need a better O-line and better QB to make it work in real life rather than just fantasy.
  • WR Jalen Brooks essentially fell out of the rotation with Harrison and Xavier Weaver (33% route share) both back from injuries.

  • RB Travis Etienne took 69% of snaps and 21 of 25 RB opportunities (84%), with LeQuint Allen mostly still limited to passing downs in the absence of Bhayshul Tuten (finger).
  • Parker Washington was third among Jacksonville's WRs in snaps and routes, yet easily led the team in targets, air yards and receiving yards. The Jags are really on to something with the trio of Washington, Jakobi Meyers and Brian Thomas. How that shakes out in terms of target share next season (or during the playoffs / stretch run even) is anyone's guess.

  • RB Jaleel McLaughlin had a significant role early on and even finished with five of 12 RB carries, but he ultimately played just 15% of snaps, with RJ Harvey (12 of 20 RB opportunities, 58% snap share) and passing-down specialist Tyler Badie (29% route share) getting most of the playing time.
    • McLaughlin and Harvey actually had the same number of carries (four) before halftime, albeit with Harvey playing 61% of snaps (two targets) and McLaughlin just 25% (no targets).
  • Pat Bryant and Troy Franklin were in the same range for snap/route shares and air yards. Bryant's late exit with a serious-looking injury likely means more snaps down the stretch for some combination of Franklin, Marvin Mims and Lil'Jordan Humphrey.

  • RB Ashton Jeanty scored a pair of long TDs, and perhaps answered any questions about whether he's part of the problem in Las Vegas or just a victim of horrific circumstances for RB production. Unfortunately, there's a decent chance he's in a bottom-five situation again next year, unless you for some reason have faith in the Raiders' decision-makers.
  • Jack Bech was the No. 2 WR again, finishing with 2-43-0 on three targets. Tre Tucker and Brock Bowers were the only Raiders with more than three targets in a rare run-heavy game for the offense.

  • RB Nick Chubb started, but Jawhar Jordan came in for the second snap and took the first carry of the game. In the first half, Jordan played only 48% of snaps but took eight carries and one target for 37 yards, while Chubb and Dare Ogunbowale combined for just one carry (Chubb) and one target (Ogunbowale).
    • In the third quarter, Jordan played 64% of snaps and got five of seven RB opportunities.
    • In the fourth quarter, Chubb took on more work, getting 52% of snaps, four carries and one target, though Jordan was also fairly busy (four carries, two targets on just 35% of snaps).
    • All in all, Jordan finished with only 46% of snaps but 20 of 29 RB touches (69%).
  • WR Christian Kirk got more playing time, mostly at Xavier Hutchinson's expense. Jayden Higgins had similar snap/route shares to recent weeks, but finished without much production for a second straight game.

  • RB TreVeyon Henderson suffered a concussion midway through the second quarter. At the time, he had five carries and one target, compared to three carries and no targets for Rhamondre Stevenson (who then played all but one snap for the rest of the game, including a go-ahead TD and a game-icing first down).
  • WR Stefon Diggs exploded for 9-138-0 on 10 targets, after three straight games with four or fewer targets and fewer than 30 yards. His snap share (59%) was about normal, with a stronger-than-usual tilt toward being on the field for pass plays (81% route share was one of his highest marks this season, perhaps aided slightly by DeMario Douglas and Kayshon Boutte getting injured late in the game).

  • We were one penalty away from the Baltimore Trifecta — a lost fumble by each of Zay Flowers, Derrick Henry and Mark Andrews. We also got an early injury exit for Lamar Jackson and a fourth-quarter defensive collapse, making this an oddly fitting end to the Harbaugh era. It's a shame the Ravens still have to play two more games.
  • Jackson suffered a back injury shortly before halftime. He went to the locker room early and was deemed questionable to return, before being ruled out for the night during the third quarter.
  • RB Keaton Mitchell had a significant role again, including taking both of the carries on Baltimore's penultimate drive when the team was protecting a three-point lead and had just seen Henry take four straight carries for 32 yards and a TD at the start of the fourth quarter.
