2025 Fantasy Outlook
Bosa's Defensive Player of the Year caliber of play from 2022 is looking more and more like an outlier, but what he's lacked in upside in recent seasons, he's made up for with reliable consistency. He's recorded between 47 and 52 tackles in each of his five full seasons and has played in at least 14 games in five of his six total campaigns. Of course, rushing the passer and making plays based on penetration into the backfield are Bosa's calling card. He slipped a bit with only 24 quarterback hits in 2024, which could be a warning sign that a gentle decline is beginning. However, Bosa remained disruptive with 15 tackles for loss, suggesting he is still capable of making explosive plays. Entering his age-28 season, Bosa remains an elite fantasy producer along the defensive line. Read Past Outlooks
Hopeful for training camp
The 49ers are hopeful that Bosa (ACL) will be back in time for training camp ahead of the 2026 season, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
ANALYSIS
Bosa underwent surgery to address his torn ACL in late September. The defensive end is progressing well in his recovery and is anticipated to be all set for the 2026 season. Before missing most of the 2025 campaign, Bosa logged 52 tackles (33 solo), including 9.0 sacks for one forced fumble, and one pass defensed for an interception over 14 games in the 2024 season. If the 28-year-old can set his body right, the ceiling of the 49ers' 2026 defense will surely climb.

Bosa has been remarkably consistent throughout his five-year career. In four full seasons, he's played between 713 and 798 defensive snaps and come away with between 47 and 53 total tackles. More uncharacteristic from the 2023 season was his lack of pass-rush production, as he finished with only 10.5 sacks and a relatively muted 19 percent pass-rush win rate. The explanation is fairly straightforward, however, as he was third in the league in his rate of being double teamed. In response, the 49ers signed Leonard Floyd to a multi-year deal this offseason, which should help keep attention away from Bosa a bit more in 2024. He should be back in the conversation for sack leader once again, keeping him in the conversation as one of the most elite fantasy options along the defensive line.
