Expected recovery of nine months
Parsons underwent surgery to repair a torn ACL in his left knee Monday and is facing a ninth-month recovery period, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Rapoport relays that Parsons sustained a clear tear of the ACL in his left knee and that there was no other ligament damage, which will help with the All-Pro pass rusher's time to recovery. The timeline means Parsons likely will miss the opening portion of next season and is a candidate to start it on injured reserve. He sustained the injury Week 15 against the Broncos and finished his first regular season with the Packers with 41 tackles (19 solo), including 12.5 sacks, one pass defense and two forced fumbles across 14 games.

Parsons set a new career high with 14.0 sacks last year, but he's been arguably the most consistent pass rusher in the NFL since being drafted 12th overall in 2021, producing 13.0 sacks as a rookie and 13.5 in 2022. Former defensive coordinator Dan Quinn lined him up all over the field looking for mismatches, but it's not yet clear how new DC Mike Zimmer plans to deploy Parsons, or whether the scheme change will have an impact on his numbers. The 25-year-old edge rusher's elite athleticism should allow him to thrive no matter how he's used, however.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Was nearly dealt to Philadelphia
On his podcast "The Edge with Micah Parsons" on Friday, Parsons suggested that he was close to being traded to the Eagles prior to the start of the 2025 regular season, per the Bleacher Report.
ANALYSIS
Parsons relayed that he was "really close" to being sent by the Cowboys to the Eagles but that he didn't want to be part of the deal if it meant that Jalen Carter was sent to Dallas. Parsons was instead sent to the Packers in a deal that netted the Cowboys two first-round picks and Kenny Clark, and the former subsequently signed a four-year, $188 million extension with Green Bay. Parsons' productive first season with the Packers came to an abrupt halt after he tore his ACL in December, and his recovery timeline means he'll likely be sidelined for the opening portion of the 2026 regular season.
