2024 Fantasy Outlook
Rattler was the third selection of the Saints in the 2024 NFL Draft, and he's likely in the cards for the team's future plans at quarterback. However, the fifth-round pick will immediately contend for the backup role behind starting signal-caller Derek Carr. With Jameis Winston gone to Cleveland, Rattler will contend with journeyman Nathan Peterman and 2021 fourth-round pick Jake Haener, the latter of whom has yet to make his NFL debut. Rattler started his collegiate career with high expectations at Oklahoma before losing his job to Caleb Williams in 2021, and he finished with a 19:8 TD:INT at South Carolina in 2023.

Sleeper trade option this offseason
Rattler, who finished the 2025 season dealing with a thumb injury, is a player that teams in need of quarterback help should attempt to trade for this offseason, Ben Solak of ESPN.com opines.
ANALYSIS
Solak is high on Rattler's upside, arguing the 2024 fifth-round pick is "the guy I'd really be pursuing" if he were handling personnel decisions on a team in need of a quarterback. Rattler completed 67.7 percent of his passes for 1,586 yards and an 8:5 TD:INT while adding 167 rushing yards on 31 carries over his nine 2025 games before losing his starting job to Tyler Shough, and Solak argues Shough had the benefit of much better defensive play during his time under center.
