Ronnie Rivers

26-Year-Old Running BackRB
Los Angeles Rams
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Despite starting the season as the primary backup to Kyren Williams, Rivers found himself pushed back to third on the depth chart behind Blake Corum by the Rams' Week 6 bye. Most of the former UDFA's 99 rushing yards on the season came in a meaningless Week 18 game, and with fourth-round draft pick Jarquez Hunter joining the running back room, Rivers likely will be relegated to special teams barring multiple injuries ahead of him. Works as return man
RBLos Angeles Rams
January 5, 2026
Rivers returned four kickoffs for 107 yards during Sunday's 37-20 victory against the Cardinals.
ANALYSIS
Kyren Williams and Blake Corum became a formidable duo in 2025, combining for 404 carries, 1,998 yards on the ground and 16 touchdowns. This didn't leave much for Rivers, who finished his fourth year with the Rams with just 46 yards on nine carries over 11 games. Rivers did return 16 kicks for 418 yards, but the return role was a fairly even split with Corum, Jordan Whittington (knee) and Xavier Smith. With the Rams securely set with Williams, Corum and 2025 fourth-round pick Jarquez Hunter in the backfield, Rivers, who will be an unrestricted free agent at season's end, may test free agency to find a more secure role elsewhere. He'll next take on Carolina on Saturday in the wild-card round of the playoffs.

2024 Fantasy Outlook
Undrafted out of Fresno State in 2023, Rivers has bounced on and off the practice squad with the Rams the last two years as a reliable depth option, albeit one with limited upside. While he can contribute on all three downs, Rivers lacks the size, speed or power to be a lead back in the NFL. Los Angeles recognizes his limits and deploys him effectively, but the team also understood that he might be overmatched as the No. 2 option behind Kyren Williams and added Boston Scott in free agency before using a third-round pick on Blake Corum.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Chance at expanded Week 18 role
RBLos Angeles Rams
January 1, 2026
Rivers could play a larger role in Week 18 against the Cardinals, as Adam Grosbard of The Orange County Register reports that Blake Corum missed Thursday's practice and Kyren Williams was limited due to their respective ankle injuries.
ANALYSIS
Corum didn't return after hurting his ankle during the Week 17 loss to Atlanta, and the Rams are likely to scale back Williams' workload in the regular-season finale to ensure their lead back is available for the postseason. More opportunities could be available for Rivers and Jarquez Hunter against the weak Cardinals run defense in a Rams backfield usually dominated by Williams and Corum. Rivers was on the field for three snaps against the Falcons, while Hunter was a healthy scratch.
