2025 Fantasy Outlook
Most were surprised when the Browns selected Judkins 36th overall in the 2025 draft, but it's easy to make the case he was worth the pick. At 6 feet, 221 pounds, Judkins has almost the exact same frame as 22nd overall pick Omarion Hampton, whose 4.46 40 was just a hair better than Judkins' 4.48. Before running that 40, Judkins was mostly thought of as a power specialist, in part because his career average of 5.1 yards per carry was dragged down by a lot of short-yardage work. He scored 45 rushing touchdowns in 42 games at Ole Miss and Ohio State, often taking the highest-difficulty carries while smaller backs (like fellow second-round pick TreVeyon Henderson) got the YPC-boosting looks. When a defense needed a crucial stop, Judkins was the last person they wanted to see on the field. His preparation for the 2025 was stalled due to a legal case (since resolved) and the lack of a contract. Judkins eventually signed in the days leading up to Week 1, but the Browns will receive a two-week roster exemption, indicating the won't play the first games. Once ready to go, Judkins could become the lead back, although Jerome Ford remains the favorite for passing-down snaps. Fourth-round pick and fellow rookie Dylan Sampson is a solid prospect in his own right, and he'll likely start off as the No. 2 back behind Ford until Judkins is ready. Read Past Outlooks

Undergoes successful surgery

December 23, 2025
The Browns announced that Judkins was placed on injured reserve after he underwent successful surgery Tuesday to repair a dislocated right ankle and fractured right fibula.
ANALYSIS
Judkins is expected to make a full recovery ahead of the 2026 season and should be ready to resume football activities in 4-to-6 months. The rookie running back suffered the season-ending injury during Sunday's 23-20 loss to the Bills. With Judkins out for the final two contests of the 2025 campaign, Cleveland is expected to roll with some combination of Dylan Sampson (hand/calf), Raheim Sanders and Trayveon Williams out of the backfield in Weeks 17 and 18. Judkins finished the season with 230 carries for 827 yards (3.6 average) and seven touchdowns to go with 26 catches for 171 yards on 36 targets over 14 games.

Should be back for training camp
RBCleveland Browns
December 22, 2025
Judkins is facing a 4-5 month recovery timeline after suffering multiple leg injuries in Sunday's loss to the Bills, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
ANALYSIS
That estimate would have the running back fully recovered in time for training camp in 2026. Judkins looked very good at times for the Browns this season, finishing his rookie season with 827 rushing yards and seven touchdowns over 14 games, albeit with a mediocre 3.6 yards per carry. Assuming he fully recovers from surgery to repair a dislocated ankle and fractured fibula, Judkins should be locked into the top spot in the Cleveland backfield next year.
