2025 Fantasy Outlook
Evans was scooped up by the Panthers in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft after posting 421 yards and three TDs in 16 games for Notre Dame in 2024. That production was disappointing considering he needed only eight games to rack up 422 yards in 2023. Carolina’s an intriguing landing spot for the 6-foot-5, 253-pound TE given the team’s lack of established talent at the position, though 2024 fourth-round pick Ja’Tavion Sanders has more pass catching upside than Evans, and Tommy Tremble’s a better blocker. Evans doesn’t have any glaring holes in his game, which could help him earn a role on offense out of the gate, but separating from NFL defenders will be tough with his underwhelming 4.72 speed. Read Past Outlooks
Solid rookie campaign in Carolina
Evans caught 19 of 25 targets for 171 yards and two touchdowns and rushed once for one yard across 17 regular-season games in 2025.
ANALYSIS
Despite opening the season as the Panthers' No. 3 tight end, Evans started 10 games and played 391 offensive snaps during his rookie campaign, largely due to Carolina's frequent use of two- and three-tight-end sets. The 2025 fifth-round pick from Notre Dame was used primarily as a blocker but also held his own as a receiver, averaging 9.0 yards per reception. With Ja'Tavion Sanders (ankle, IR) out for Carolina's 2025 playoff run, Evans is set to operate as the team's top backup behind Tommy Tremble. Even with Tremble and Sanders under contract for 2026 season, Evans will likely be more involved in the Panthers' offensive game plan.

Fourth-round pick in Reuter's mock
Chad Reuter of NFL.com's mock draft 2.0 has Evans going to the Vikings in the fourth round.
ANALYSIS
Evans had 422 receiving yards in eight games for Notre Dame in 2023, then just 421 yards in 16 games in 2024, though he increased his touchdown total from one to three. If Evans goes to Minnesota, he would project to occupy a backup role behind T.J. Hockenson.
