Paces pass catchers in playoff loss
Mims brought in four of six targets for 62 yards and returned three punts for eight yards in the Broncos' 10-7 loss to the Patriots in Sunday's AFC Championship Game.
ANALYSIS
Mims and the Broncos looked like they were on the way to a productive afternoon when the speedster hauled in a 52-yard pass from Jarrett Stidham on Denver's second possession, setting up a touchdown pass to Courtland Sutton two plays later. Mims did continue to feature as a key part of the air attack the remainder of the day in the absence of Troy Franklin and Pat Bryant -- the latter exiting the game in the second quarter -- due to hamstring issues, but a second-half snowstorm significantly comprised both teams' offenses. Mims finished as the co-leader in receptions and targets while setting the pace in receiving yards, capping off a productive two-game postseason run that also saw him generate an 8-93-1 line in the divisional-round overtime victory against the Bills.

Mims got off to a great start as a rookie after the Broncos drafted him in Round 2 last year. In his first four games, he recorded 242 receiving yards on 11 targets, adding a kick return TD and a pair of long punt returns. But things went downhill quickly; Mims had one game with more than 16 receiving yards the rest of the way, with his biggest impact coming on special teams. After Week 4, he saw targets on 22 of 210 routes (10.5 percent), catching 13 for 135 yards. Inconsistent playing time was part of the problem, but Mims also did next to nothing with the snaps and routes he got. Coach Sean Payton has already hinted at a larger role for Mims in Year 2, though Payton's track record of rotating receivers behind his No. 1 suggests playing time could be an issue for everyone besides Courtland Sutton. Apart from Mims, the Broncos will have Josh Reynolds, Tim Patrick and rookie fourth-round pick Troy Franklin as the top candidates for WR snaps. With Jarrett Stidham and/or rookie Bo Nix under center, it's hard to argue for Mims as anything other than a late-round flier in fantasy.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Could emerge as top receiver
Mims has a chance to lead the Broncos in receiving yards in 2025, Parker Gabriel of the Denver Post suggests.
ANALYSIS
Parker initially suggested that Mims is the leading candidate to be the second outside receiver in Denver, opposite Courtland Sutton. After Sutton posted 1,081 yards in the 2024 regular season to lead the team, he should enter 2025 as the clear-cut favorite to retain that title. However, Mims broke out in the second half of 2024 by recording 32 catches for 447 yards and six touchdowns across the final eight games of the regular season and could continue to excel in Denver's new-look offense.
