A fifth-round pick in 2024 out of Wake Forest, Carson played only six games as a rookie due to shoulder woes that eventually required surgery in December. He looked healthy during the offseason program but suffered a hyperextended knee in late July that's expected to sideline him 4-to-6 weeks. With Trevon Diggs and 2025 third-round pick Shavon Revel both looking iffy for Week 1, though, Carson could be leaned on for significant snaps early in the season, assuming he's healthy. ANALYSIS
Carson was unable to play in Thursday's Week 13 win over Kansas City due to a hamstring injury. However, his ability to practice in full Monday suggests he has a good chance of returning to action this Thursday versus Detroit. Rookie Shavon Revel stepped into a starting role on Thanksgiving in Carson's absence, but Revel would likely revert to more of a rotational role should Carson be able to return against the Lions.
