Joining Arizona
Minshew is in line to sign a one-year contract with the Cardinals, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Minshew's odds of starting Week 1 will depend on Arizona's other moves this offseason, with Jacoby Brissett and Kedon Slovis being the other QBs currently under contract. Minshew replaced an injured Patrick Mahomes (knee) in Kansas City this past December, only to suffer a season-ending knee injury of his own during his first start. Initial reports said the injury might be an ACL tear, but Minshew ultimately was diagnosed with just a bone bruise and made a full recovery by the end of January, per Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Before a season-ending broken collarbone derailed his 2024 campaign, Minshew started nine of 10 appearances with the Raiders, completing 203 of 306 pass attempts (66.3 percent) for 2,013 yards, nine touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He'd likely be more productive under center in Kansas City, with the benefit of coach Andy Reid's offensive scheme and plentiful playmakers in the pass-catching corps, but Minshew won't be tasked with consequential snaps as long as Patrick Mahomes stays healthy.

ANALYSIS
Currently, Arizona has Kyler Murray and Jacoby Brissett on the roster as well, but Murray is set to be the released when the new league year begins, while Brissett could be an enticing trade asset. The 29-year-old Minshew played four games for Kansas City in 2025, starting only one, but he started 13 of 17 regular-season games for Indianapolis in 2023, completing 62.2 percent of his passes for 3,305 yards with 15 TDs and nine interceptions. Arizona will be Minshew's fifth team in five seasons, including stops in Philadelphia and Las Vegas.
