Gouweleeuw signed a contract extension with FC Augsburg until 2027, the club announced. "Jeff has been with FC Augsburg for over ten years. Throughout all these years, he has always shown responsibility and has been a role model for his teammates. We are delighted that Jeff is joining FCA for his twelfth season. Gouweleeuw (knee) was spotted running and training partially this week, according to Augsburger Allgemeine.

Gouweleeuw suffered a renewed medial ligament injury against Stuttgart on Sunday and will need to undergo a surgery, the club announced.
