Hugo Ekitike

Ekitike (back) is uncertain to play Sunday against West Ham United, manager Arne Slot told media during Thursday's press conference. "They don't expect that it has to be a big issue, but the games come fast so let's see for the weekend. But it shouldn't have to be a big issue."

Ekitike contributed a season high four shots in the Champions League before being forced off in the 61st minute of Wednesdays 4-1 defeat against PSV due to a back issue, coach Arne Slot said in a press conference, according to the Liverpool Echo. "It felt as if he couldn't move as he did [in] the first half. So, that's why our press was, I think, also a little bit off. And he just told me that in the first five to 10 minutes of the first half he already felt his back too much. That's also why he had to go out."

Ekitike was forced off with an apparent hamstring injury during Wednesday's clash with PSV.

Ekitike started the last five matches and managed to score only one goal, unable to build on his strong start of the season.

Ekitike scored one goal to go with three shots (two on goal) and one cross (zero accurate) in Wednesday's 5-1 win versus Eintracht Frankfurt.
