Anthony Bermont

Bermont (knock) will be rested for Saturday's clash against Auxerre, coach Pierre Sage said in the press conference.

Bermont signed a contract extension with Lens until 2029, the club announced. "Anthony is one of the Gaillette-born players with great potential, and it was important for us to demonstrate our confidence in him with a contract extension. He is a long-term part of our project. The season he spent on loan at Annecy was formative for him, as was his recent participation in the U20 World Cup, and he is confirming his ability to make a difference with the ball at his feet at the start of this season. Anthony is a team player who can play in several positions depending on the coach's needs and never hesitates to put himself at the service of the team. We are very happy to continue the story between the club and him," said Sporting Director Jean-Louis Leca.

Bermont is heading back from the U20 World Cup after France were eliminated in the semifinals against Morocco.

Bermont was called up by France for the upcoming U20 World Cup in Chile.
