Perez defeated Karol Rosa via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27) at UFC 311 on Saturday in Los Angeles.
ANALYSIS
Perez landed very little on the way of damaging offense, but her grappling over the course of the first two rounds was enough to help her pull the upset as a +205 underdog. Ailin muscled her way into one takedown in each frame, racking up 4:15 worth of control time in the first 10 minutes. Rosa managed to close the gap in Round 3 on the feet, but the damage was already done. Perez's power is lacking, and she's not an explosive wrestler, but it's impossible to argue with the results of late.
