February is here! It's another light Sunday of NHL action to kick off the month with three games on the slate and the first starting one at 3 p.m. EST. Onto the DFS lineup recommendations!
SLATE PREVIEW
It's an odd Sunday schedule. The Hurricanes and Kings both played on Saturday while the Golden Knights - who will be visiting the Ducks - will also be on their second straight night. Neither Tampa nor Boston were in action on Saturday, but that game is outdoors in Florida.
GOALIE
Brandon Bussi, CAR vs. LOS ($8,200): The Hurricanes are on the second day of a back-to-back, but so are the Kings - and they'll also on the road. The Hurricanes lead the NHL in shots allowed while LA are bottom-five for goals per game. Thanks to Carolina's defense, Bussi has posted a 2.22 GAA and makes for a solid Sunday selection.
VALUE PLAY/ONE-OFF
Brandon Hagel, TAM vs. BOS ($7,100): Hagel, Nikita Kucherov, and Jake Guentzel are all neck-and-neck in terms of leading the Lightning in shots. However, Hagel's 137 have only come over 47 games. While outdoor matchups always include different conditions compared to regular NHL action, the Bruins rank bottom-eight for shots allowed and will away from home. That means Hagel should be able to get some pucks on net.
FORWARD LINE STACK TO CONSIDER
Ducks vs. Golden Knights
Mikael Granlund (C - $5,400), Beckett Sennecke (W - $5,900), Alex Killorn (W - $3,500)
Vegas is one of the best teams at preventing shots, but likely won't be as solid on the road for the second game of a back-to-back. Adin Hill is also in line to start, and he's really struggled since returning from injury with a 4.15 GAA and .832 save percentage through five appearances. Anaheim has recently been moving players around the lineup, though this trio looks good if it stays together.
In his first season with the Ducks, Granlund has 26 points in only 36 games with five goals, five assists, and 28 shots from his last 11. Sennecke is having a remarkable rookie campaign for someone who just turned 20. He's tallied 18 goals and 25 assists, including seven and seven of each over his last 15 outings. Killorn has been hurt by bad puck luck at a 6.2 shooting percentage after a 14.7 the previous five years. Things have gone better of late as he's potted four goals on 31 shots across 13 matchups.
DEFENSEMAN
Darren Raddysh, TAM vs. BOS ($6,200): Though Victor Hedman is expected to play for the first time since early December, he's probably not going to jump in with both feet while Raddysh has earned a sizeable role for the Lightning. He's also riding a three-game goal streak with multiple points eight times in his last 17 appearances. Raddysh has also registered 117 shots overall while the Bruins have allowed an average of 29.8.
