Samson Ebukam

Ebukam recorded 36 tackles (21 solo), one forced fumble and one fumble recover across 15 games with the 49ers in 2022. He is expected to be in the defensive end rotation for the Colts in the 2023 season.

It took a while for Ebukam to make an impact last season, as he slotted in behind Cory Littleton, Dante Fowler and Clay Matthews in the linebacker rotation. The third-year edge defender did finish 2019 strong, though. Ebukam collected 26 tackles (16 solo) and 4.5 sacks through the final seven games of the campaign, so he enters the final season of his rookie deal with momentum on his side. Additionally, Littleton, Fowler and Matthews have all moved on from the Rams. Still, Los Angeles brought in Leonard Floyd, the ninth overall selection in the 2016 NFL Draft, and drafted Terrell Lewis out of Alabama in the third round this year. Both Floyd and Lewis will push Ebukam for playing time and cut into his fantasy upside.

A 14-game starter in 2018, Ebukam collected 40 tackles (25 solo) and three sacks in his second season in the league. He's projected to be ready to return for Week 1 following offseason knee surgery in March, but hasn't suited up for Los Angeles' first two preseason games. Additionally, the Rams have three pass rushers at outside linebacker with Clay Matthews joining the team as a free agent, and Dante Fowler re-signing a one-year deal. Ebukam's upside in IDP settings is likely capped as a result.

Ebukam had a fine rookie season as a depth linebacker, generating 31 tackles and two sacks in 16 games. He's in line to be a starter in 2018 and could be a mid-level contributor with upside on the pass rush. Projecting Ebukam's ceiling in a full season with starter snap counts is difficult, however, so fantasy owners may want to wait and see what he can do.
