2025 Fantasy Outlook
Wattenberg heads into a contract year after operating as the Broncos' starting center in 2024. Despite missing four regular season games on injured reserve due to an ankle injury, the 27-year-old proved to build solid chemistry with quarterback Bo Nix. Wattenberg should continue to develop as a member of a formidable offensive line unit. Read Past Outlooks

Shoulder
January 21, 2026
The Broncos designated Wattenberg (shoulder) to return from injured reserve Wednesday, Aric DiLalla of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Wattenberg suffered a shoulder injury in late December that required extensive recovery time. Alex Forsyth (ankle) took over as the starting center in his absence and has played since Week 17. With Forsyth injuring his ankle in last Saturday's overtime playoff victory over the Bills, Wattenberg's potential return for Sunday's AFC Conference Championship Game against the Patriots would be a huge addition to the offensive line. In a doomsday scenario where neither Wattenberg nor Fosyth can suit up, the task of protecting backup quarterback Jarrett Stidham would fall to Sam Mustipher.

2024 Fantasy Outlook
A fifth-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, Wattenberg should contend to be he Broncos' starting center in 2024. The 27-year-old has played both center and guard in his two NFL seasons, so his versatility could afford him the opportunity to be used in different roles. Nonetheless, Wattenberg will have the important responsibility of building a strong chemistry with whoever is under center when the season starts, especially with a potential rookie at quarterback in Bo Nix.

Wattenberg and the Broncos have had preliminary talks about a contract extension, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.
ANALYSIS
The 2022 fifth-round pick has started 24 games at center for Denver over the last two seasons.
