Kamren Curl

26-Year-Old SafetyS
Los Angeles Rams
2025 Fantasy Outlook
The veteran safety recorded a career-low 79 tackles in his first season with the Rams in 2024, but he had a career-high nine pass defenses while adding 1.0 sacks, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery that he returned for a touchdown. The Rams added no considerable threats to playing time for Curl, who will likely enjoy an every-down role on defense again with Jaylen McCollough providing depth at the position. Read Past Outlooks

Career high in tackles in 2025
SLos Angeles Rams
January 7, 2026
Curl recorded 122 tackles (79 solo), including 2.0 sacks, five passes defensed, two interceptions and forced a fumble over 17 games in 2025.
ANALYSIS
The veteran was on a torrid pace to start the year, with 57 tackles (38 solo) through seven games, before settling down to more modest stat lines through the final 10 games. Curl was also on the field for every snap on defense in 12 games, something he'll likely be asked to do again in the wild-card round on Saturday against Bryce Young and the Panthers. Curl will be an unrestricted free agent after the season, and given his performance and stability at safety, a reunion with the Rams is certainly a possibility for 2026 (and beyond).

Curl emerged from a seventh-round selection in 2020 to being a full-time starter by the close of his rookie contract in Washington. He signed a substantial multi-year deal with the Rams this offseason, helping them completely retool their secondary. He doesn't stand out particularly in any area but is good enough both against the run and the pass to stay on the field on an every-down basis. That shouldn't change on his new team, putting him in a good position to top 100 tackles for the second straight season. Curl lacks the upside of some of his peers due to his lack of proven big-play availability, but he should be a reliable and steady producer.
Curl has emerged as a stalwart in coordinator Jack Del Rio's defense, filling the box safety role and grading out well both against the run and in coverage. While that hasn't yet resulted in elite production over a full season, he could be on the cusp of breaking out, as he would have recorded 121 tackles last year if he'd been on the field for 1,000 snaps rather than missing five games due to thumb and ankle injuries. The 2020 seventh-round pick heads into the final year of his rookie contract looking to cash in big, either with an extension or in free agency.
Curl was supposed to be a CB/FS tweener out of Arkansas, but through two years he’s thrived as a more traditional safety, including in the box. With 187 tackles in 1,608 snaps, Curl’s production to this point implies he only needs roughly 850 snaps to approach triple-digit tackles. Fellow Washington safety Bobby McCain is more of the free safety between the two, leaving Curl with more of the tackle-friendly box work.
Although he didn't get much attention for it, Curl was one of the better rookies in the NFL last year. Unheralded as a seventh-round pick out of Arkansas, Curl made a quick impression with Washington and earned slot corner reps to begin the year. Then Landon Collins suffered a torn Achilles tendon, and Curl moved from the slot to Collins' position. Curl acquitted himself well in both capacities, playing well in coverage and producing a well-rounded box score with standout production in tackles, sacks and interceptions. Curl looks like a steal for Washington.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Unlikely to be dealt
SWashington Commanders
October 30, 2023
Curl is a player the Commanders would prefer to re-sign rather than trade ahead of Tuesday's deadline, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The safety is in the final year of his rookie contract after being a seventh-round pick in 2020, but Curl has been a big part of the Washington secondary since his debut and has never recorded fewer than 84 tackles in a season. The Commanders could deal a number of players Tuesday who are on expiring contracts, including pass rushers Chase Young and Montez Sweat, but Curl may not be among them.
