Hawkins tallied 71 total tackles (45 solo), including 1.5 sacks, six passes defensed, including four interceptions, and one forced fumble across 15 regular-season games in 2025.
ANALYSIS
The 28-year-old started all 15 games in which he appeared and logged 836 defensive snaps this season, the second-highest total of his career. In his second year with the Patriots, Hawkins proved to be an integral part of the secondary, leading the team in interceptions and ranking fourth in passes defensed. Set to become an unrestricted free agent following New England's 2025 playoff run, Hawkins will likely draw interest from teams in need of a starting safety ahead of the 2026 season.

Hawkins was a full-time starter for the first time in his career in 2022, posting 84 tackles, six pass defenses, two interceptions and a defensive touchdown. The 2020 fourth-round pick is in the final year of his rookie deal and may move back to a rotational role after the addition of safety Jesse Bates this offseason. Hawkins also could remain a prominent piece in the Falcons secondary by moving to a slot role, but Mike Hughes is the early frontrunner for that position.
Hawkins appeared in 14 games last year and totaled 24 tackles, three pass deflections and two interceptions. The 2020 fourth-round pick is expected to be the Falcons' top nickel defender, but if Erik Harris (pectoral) isn't 100 percent by Week 1, it's possible Hawkins enters the 2021 campaign as the Falcons' starting free safety.
The Falcons love Hawkins' versatility. He is a 6-foot-2 safety who played with physicality while defending the run at Cal, and he also recorded 10 interceptions over his final three seasons. Coming from Pac-10 play and having an abbreviated rookie offseason certainly ups the learning curve for Hawkins initially, but he will have the benefit of studying behind veteran talents like Ricardo Allen, Damontae Kazee and Keanu Neal.
