Watson (groin) agreed to a three-year contract with the Rams on Monday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Watson's deal won't become official until the new league year begins Wednesday, at which point the Rams should officially have two former Chiefs cornerbacks on their roster in Watson and Trent McDuffie. Watson notched exactly six passes defensed in each of his four regular seasons with Kansas City, exceeding expectations after being drafted in the seventh round in 2022. He started all 15 games in which he appeared for the Chiefs in 2025 before missing the final two games of the season due to a groin injury, an issue he'll presumably be past ahead of OTAs.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2024
2023
Despite his seventh-round status in the 2022 NFL Draft, Watson earned playing time as a rookie and has logged considerable action in each of his first two seasons. He and Joshua Williams performed well enough that the Chiefs allowed L'Jarius Sneed to head elsewhere (the Titans) in free agency, so the duo should log additional action in 2024. Per PFF, Watson graded out well as a tackler, a run defender and a pass rusher, evidenced by his 33 tackles (28 solo) and two sacks a season ago, and he's likely headed for a more pivotal role this season.
Watson recorded 49 total tackles, six passes defended and an interception for a touchdown as a rookie in 2022. The 24-year-old cornerback looks poised to handle a similar role as a rotational player in the Chiefs' defensive backfield.

CBKansas City Chiefs
December 16, 2025
Kansas City will try to retain Watson this offseason, Nate Taylor of ESPN suggests.
ANALYSIS
Trent McDufie is the most well-known member of the team's secondary, but Watson has been a fixture as well this season. He's been on the field for 97 percent of defensive snaps, and he has yet to allow a touchdown in coverage. The 2022 seventh-round pick is in the final year of his rookie contract, and he's likely to get a significant new deal this offseason, either in Kansas City or elsewhere.
