Rousseau was entering something of a prove-it year in 2024, not because he hadn't produced when called upon in the past, but because he was likely to be relied upon more consistently due to the turnover along Buffalo's defensive line. That came to fruition as he logged a career-high 703 defensive snaps, with his next closest mark being just 558. That increased volume was the most significant reason his box score production improved, but it was enough to convince the Bills to give him a lucrative four-year extension, potentially worth $80 million and $54 million in guarantees. While that signifies Rousseau's importance to the team, it is worth noting that Buffalo added some significant depth to its defensive line this offseason, most notably Joey Bosa, Michael Hoecht and Larry Ogunobi. Given those additions, betting on Rousseau to completely replicate his 2024 season would be unwise.
