Deonte Banks

24-Year-Old CornerbackCB
New York Giants
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Banks led the Giants with 12 pass defenses last year despite missing three games due to a rib injury. He's proven capable of getting between the ball and receiver with 23 pass defenses through two NFL campaigns, though he's notched just two interceptions. Banks has started all 29 regular-season games in which he's played, and he could continue in that role alongside offseason acquisition Paulson Adebo in 2025, though he'll face competition from Cor'Dale Flott during training camp. Banks (hip) was a full participant in Friday's practice, Madelyn Burke of MSG Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Banks was limited in Thursday's session, and the full practice puts Banks in position to play Monday night against the Patriots. With Paulson Adebo (knee) out since Week 7, Banks has started each of the past four contests, seeing the vast majority of his snaps on the boundary.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2024
2023
Banks enjoyed a decent rookie campaign after being taken 24th overall by the Giants in the 2023 NFL Draft, working as a starter throughout the season and finishing with 64 tackles (53 solo) and 11 passes defensed, including two interceptions, before missing the final two weeks with a shoulder injury. He's in line to reprise a starting role at cornerback in his second NFL campaign and will look to take a leap forward under new defensive coordinator Shane Bowen.
The Giants liked Banks enough to trade up a spot to nab him in the 2023 NFL Draft, and the cornerback out of Maryland should take on an immediate starting role for New York. Banks is an exceptional athlete who has both the size (6-2, 205) and speed (4.35 40 time) to develop into an elite NFL defender. The 22-year-old likely will line up opposite Adoree' Jackson, giving New York a second talented corner who excels in man-to-man coverage, which is a crucial component of coordinator Wink Martindale's blitz-happy defensive scheme.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Makes strides during spring work
CBNew York Giants
June 23, 2023
Banks, the Giants' rookie 24th overall pick, worked himself up to the first-team defense over the course of OTAs and minicamp this spring, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Banks opened on the second-team defense during the Giants' first OTA session open to the media, but he quickly earned a promotion with his talent and athleticism. Defensive coordinator Wink Martindale has already taken note of the fact Banks possesses a very valuable intangible for a cornerback as well, namely, a short memory for unfavorable plays.
