2025 Fantasy Outlook
Kirk is moving on up in the AFC South, replacing Stefon Diggs in Houston after both wideouts suffered season-ending injuries last year. In Kirk's case it was just a broken collarbone, which means he should be ready for the offseason program as he enters the final year of a four-year, $72 million contract (the Jaguars traded him to Houston for a seventh-round pick in March). The situation in Houston is favorable for receiving production in general, but Nico Collins is locked in as the No. 1, and Kirk may face snap/target competition from rookies Jayden Higgins (Round 2) and Jaylin Noel (Round 3). There's also the matter of Kirk struggling in 2024 for the Jaguars before his injury. He had a career-high 13.7 aDOT and career-low 57.4 percent catch rate, which worked out to 47.4 receiving yards per game, down from 65.6 YPG in 2023 and 65.2 YPG in 2022. New Texans offensive coordinator Nick Caley should get Kirk more short, easy receptions, but there's risk of physical decline, with the wideout set to turn 29 during the upcoming season after missing 14 games over the previous two years. Finds end zone in Sunday's loss
Kirk caught two of six targets for 20 yards and a touchdown in the Texans' 28-16 loss to the Patriots in the divisional round Sunday.
ANALYSIS
The veteran wideout couldn't repeat his massive performance from a wild-card win over the Steelers, but Kirk did hit paydirt for a second straight playoff game, hauling in a 10-yard toss from C.J. Stroud in the second quarter. Those two playoff TDs are more than he managed in the entire regular season, when he posted a disappointing 28-239-1 line on 52 targets over 13 games. Kirk will be a free agent in the offseason, and he'll likely be playing for his third team in three seasons in 2026.

Kirk's second season in Jacksonville wasn't as successful as his first, even though his catch rate rose by 4.1 percentage points (67.1) and his YPT by a full yard (9.3) between 2022 and 2023. His per-game production was nearly identical (4.8 catches for 65.6) apart from dropping from eight touchdowns in 17 games to three TDs in 12. Kirk was actually on pace to top his 2022 numbers for catches and yards until a hernia/groin injury on the first snap of a Week 13 loss to Cincinnati ended his season prematurely. Apart from the decrease in TDs, he wasn't really impacted by Calvin Ridley's presence, with Kirk's target rise going from 22.0 percent in 2022 to 22.5 percent in 2023 and his YPRR rising even more (1.83 to 2.08). While those numbers aren't quite at the level of a true No. 1 receiver, Kirk should remain productive in his age-27 season ahead, possibly even getting a boost from the Jags swapping out Ridley for Gabe Davis and first-round pick Brian Thomas. The rookie and the former Bill still give defenses something to think about -- especially downfield -- but neither is as much of a threat as Ridley to handle a large target share. In any case, Kirk had 10 more catches and 124 more yards than Ridley at the time of his season-ending injury last year. Kirk might have made it back on the field if Jacksonville had gone on a playoff run, and there's been no indication the groin/hernia surgery will impact his preparation this offseason.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Top wideout spot for Sunday
Kirk is in line to serve as the Texans' No. 1 receiver in Sunday's divisional-round game against the Patriots due to Nico Collins having been ruled out because of a concussion, DJ Bien-Aime of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The veteran wideout had an injury-hampered first regular season in Houston, missing four games. However, Kirk was the star of the Texans' wild-card win over the Steelers on Monday night, taking on a bigger role after Collins exited the contest and posting eight receptions for 144 yards and a touchdown on nine targets in total. Similar production and volume may be hard to replicate against a talented Patriots defense that represents a significant step up in competition, but Kirk will be due for a noteworthy bump in targets.
