No offseason procedures anticipated
Purdy said Monday that he will not require an offseason procedure to address the turf toe injury that hampered him early during the 2025 campaign, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Purdy's turf toe injury bothered him as early as Week 1, and, in conjunction with an AC joint sprain in his left shoulder, he was forced him to miss two games. In his return to action Week 4, he then aggravated the toe issue, resulting in a six-game stretch on the sidelines. Purdy said he'll continue strengthening the toe this offseason, but the issue won't cause him any limitations during team activities or require surgery. Across his nine combined regular-season appearances and two playoff tilts, Purdy completed an impressive 230 of 342 pass attempts for 2,569 yards, 22 touchdowns and three interceptions, while also rushing 47 times for 208 yards and three scores. Looking ahead to the 2026 campaign, however, Purdy's fantasy prospects look murky. George Kittle (Achilles) is recovering from a significant injury, while at wide receiver Jauan Jennings is staring down free agency, and injuries consistently hampered Ricky Pearsall in 2025.

A surgically repaired elbow had Purdy questionable entering last season, but he ultimately backed up his out-of-nowhere rookie campaign with another top-tier season, using the same formula that first led him to prominence -- intermediate throws that produce plenty of yards after the catch, combined with occasional precision strikes downfield. Purdy targeted receivers in the range of 10-19 yards on 27.9 percent of his attempts, second most in the league. His receivers’ work after the catch accounted for a league-high 29.8 percent of his yards on intermediate throws as he led the league with 1,615 YAC in that range. Just 8.3 percent of Purdy’s attempts went beyond 20 yards, but he completed a league-high 53.8 percent of those and had a 6:0 TD:INT ratio. All of that helped him lead the league in YPA at 9.6 -- the most since Kurt Warner in 2000 (9.9) and seventh most in NFL history -- while finishing fifth in passing yards (4,280) and third in TD passes (31). Supported by Christian McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk, George Kittle and now first-round pick Ricky Pearsall, Purdy's yards after catch and big plays downfield should continue to pile up. The 24-year-old doesn’t run much, which limits his fantasy ceiling, but the combination of coach Kyle Shanahan’s offense and an arm that is stronger than perhaps perceived gives Purdy enough magic for another top-10 fantasy season.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Facing Seattle in divisional round
Purdy and the 49ers will face the Seahawks in the NFC divisional round, Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Purdy guided San Francisco to a 23-19 win over the Eagles in the wild-card round Sunday, setting up a rematch with the Seahawks. Seattle defeated the 49ers in Week 18 of the regular season to secure the top seed in the NFC and a first-round bye. The 49ers will attempt to avenge that loss in the NFC divisional round, but Purdy will be without key target George Kittle, who tore his Achilles in the win over Philadelphia.
