Staying with Colts
Pierce is slated to re-sign with the Colts, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Schefter, the deal to keep Pierce -- who had been viewed as one of the top pending free-agent wideouts -- with Indianapolis is a four-year, $116 million agreement. The 2022 second-rounder is coming off a 2025 regular season in which he logged a 47-1,003-6 line on 84 targets in 15 games. Pierce's field-stretching ability was clearly highly valued by the Colts, and the fact that he's already off the market no doubt affects the plans of other NFL teams in pursuit of WR upgrades. Now that Pierce is back in the fold, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network relays the Colts continue to work toward a multi-year deal with QB Daniel Jones.

Pierce had a mini-breakout in 2024, leading all qualified receivers in yards per catch (22.3), yards per target (11.9) and aDOT (21.4), with each of those numbers rising for a second straight year. He scored on seven of his 39 catches, including three TDs of 40-plus yards, but he rarely saw shorter passes to complement the deep stuff and thus finished with less than five targets per game for a third time in three pro seasons. The 2022 second-round pick may be capable of using his 4.41 speed and big frame (6-3, 211) to succeed in shorter areas of the field, but the odds of finding out for sure in 2025 don't look good, as the Colts are bringing back fellow WRs Michael Pittman and Josh Downs while giving QB Anthony Richardson one last shot to win the starting job. Pierce is the one Indianapolis pass catcher that might actually benefit from Richardson's chaotic style of play, but it would likely still be in the form of sporadic spike weeks rather than steady volume.
