Which CFB Teams Gained the Most Ground Online in Week 14?

This week's top team online was the Northwestern Wildcats of the Big Ten, who gained 0.448% more followers, despite losing to Illinois, 20-13.

The Wildcats' seven-point loss in Champaign knocked Northwestern to 6-6 for the year, but was enough to keep the program ahead of another Power Four team that lost to an in-state rival, in the Arizona State Sun Devils.

In ASU's case, Kenny Dillingham and company fell to the Arizona Wildcats, 23-7, for the first time since 2023, knocking the Big 12 program to 8-4 for the year.

That one-sided rout at the hands of the Wildcats of Arizona wasn't enough to dampen ASU's popularity online, though, with ASU gaining the second-most followers of any Power Four team this week, at +0.405%.

Behind the Wildcats and Sun Devils, you'll find this week's No. 3 team online, in the Texas A&M Aggies, who also managed to lose to an in-state rival (Texas), with Mike Elko's squad falling in Austin, 27-17.

Rounding out this week's top five online were programs like Vanderbilt (+0.292%) and Texas Tech (+0.240%), with the Commodores beating Tennessee (45-24) and pulling off the program's largest point total against the Vols' since 1923 to move to 10-2 for the year.

The Red Raiders earned the program's 11th victory of the year while advancing to the Big 12 title game by whacking West Virginia in Morgantown, 49-0, with Texas Tech playing BYU in the conference championship game this weekend.

Who Else Made the Cut?

While both teams lagged behind those mentioned above, the Lane Kiffin shuffle from Ole Miss to LSU appears to have bolstered both teams' follower counts online, with the Rebels ranking 13th nationally (+0.010%) while the Tigers were one spot lower (+0.009%).

After leading Ole Miss to a 55-19 (.743) mark over six seasons, Kiffin will take his talents to Baton Rouge, with LSU landing the CFB veteran on a seven-year deal worth $91 million in total, per CBS Sports.

Since arriving in Oxford in 2020, Kiffin has won 10 games (or more) four times, including this year's 11-1 campaign, while LSU careened from 9-4 to 7-5 this season, ultimately costing Brian Kelly his job and opening the door for Kiffin to slide into the Bayou State this offseason.
