Personal Bio/PreCareer Summary
Joshua Robert Tyler Minott was born Nov. 25, 2002 and raised in Boca Raton, Florida. For high school, Minott attended Saint Andrew's School in Boca Raton, where as a junior, he helped the basketball team win its first Class 3A state championship. Minott also played for the Jamaican national team at the 2019 Centrobasket Under-17 Championship in Puerto Rico. As a high school senior (2020-21), Minott was named the Palm Beach County Class 5A-1A Player of the Year by the Sun-Sentinel after delivering 23.1 points and 8.3 rebounds per game. In 2021, as the 29th-best prospect in the nation, per 247Sports, Minott committed to the University of Memphis. As a Tiger, Minott was named to the 2021-22 AAC All-Freshman Team. In March of 2022, he declared himself eligible for the NBA Draft. Minott was then picked by the Hornets with the 45th overall pick, but was immediately traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Bump in minutes in win
FBoston Celtics
December 3, 2025
Minott chipped in 11 points (4-6 FG, 3-5 3Pt), six rebounds and one block over 27 minutes during Tuesday's 123-117 victory over the Knicks.
ANALYSIS Minott's role has fluctuated dramatically this year, making him an unreliable fantasy asset. The 27 minutes were his most since Nov. 5. He has the tools to be an effective nine-category asset, but Minott has averaged just 7.4 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 19.2 minutes per contest over 20 games this season, and the Celtics don't appear to trust him with consistent minutes.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2023
2022
Minott appeared in only 15 games during his rookie season, averaging 3.1 points and 1.7 rebounds in 6.4 minutes per game. Given he is buried on the depth chart, there is no reason to think his role will increase during the 2023-24 season. He remains a raw prospect, requiring time to prepare his body and mind for the rigors of an NBA season. Outside of dynasty formats, there is no reason to consider Minott as a draftable player.
A one-and-done at Memphis, Minott was selected with the No. 45 pick in the 2022 Draft and dealt to the Timberwolves. As a freshman, the 6-foot-9, 196-pound forward averaged 6.6 points, 3.8 rebounds, 0.9 assists and 1.5 combined steals-plus-blocks in 14.5 minutes. Right now, Minott is more potential than production. He's an elite athlete, which has gotten him this far, but he's not a shooter, can't really handle the ball and is too skinny to be imposing defensively. So expect time in the G League for Minott, who seemingly needs to spend more time on a basketball court with some professional direction and skill development to turn into a rotation player in the NBA.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Could get extended look
FBoston Celtics
September 26, 2025
Brian Robb of Mass Live said in his mailbag column Friday that Minott could "get a big chance early."
ANALYSIS "He checks a box as a defensive-minded wing with athleticism that provided some encouraging glimpses in brief stints in Minnesota over the last few years," Robb said. "If he can outshine Jordan Walsh in training camp, it's easy to envision him getting regular minutes off the bench, and he could even be a sleeper candidate to start, depending on how Joe Mazzulla constructs the rotation." With Boston's rotation so wide open, training camp will be fascinating to monitor from a fantasy standpoint.
