Jaylin Williams

Jaylin Williams

23-Year-Old CenterC
Oklahoma City Thunder
2024 Fantasy Outlook
Williams had a productive 2024-25 season with the Thunder, averaging 5.9 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 0.5 steals and 0.6 blocks in 16.7 minutes per game across 47 appearances, showcasing his versatility on both ends of the floor. He played a key role in the Thunder's rotation, helping the team with rebounding, playmaking and interior defense. This offseason, Williams secured a three-year, $24 million extension. With rookie Thomas Sorber out for the season following a torn ACL, he may once again claim the No. 2 job at center behind Isaiah Hartenstein. His ability to contribute across multiple positions and fit into double-big lineups enhances the Thunder's flexibility while giving him steady fantasy appeal in very deep fantasy formats. In 2024-25, he nearly snuck into the top-200 for nine-category fantasy value on a per-game basis despite his limited workloads. Read Past Outlooks

Personal Bio/PreCareer Summary

Williams was born June 29, 2002, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Williams played basketball for Northside High School in Fort Smith, Arkansas. As a sophomore, he helped his team reach the Class 7A state final. In his junior season, Williams averaged 16 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks per game, and he was named Arkansas Division I Player of the Year by the Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. He led his team to the Class 6A state title and was named tournament MVP after recording 20 points and 16 rebounds in the title game. As a senior, Williams averaged 18.7 points, 12.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.5 blocks per game, earning Arkansas Gatorade Player of the Year honors and repeating as Arkansas Division I Player of the Year. A consensus four-star recruit, he decided to stay close to home, committing to Arkansas. As a freshman at Arkansas, Williams struggled to see the court. He flipped the script during his sophomore year when he became a regular starter, averaging 10.9 points and 9.8 rebounds per game, receiving first-team All-Southeastern Conference (SEC) honors from the league's coaches. He was a second-team All-SEC selection by the Associated Press and made the All-Defensive Team. He declared for the NBA draft and opted to forgo his remaining college eligibility. The Oklahoma City Thunder selected Williams in the second round of the 2022 NBA Draft with the 34th overall pick, becoming the first player of Vietnamese descent to be drafted in the NBA.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2023
2022
Williams was moderately productive during his rookie season, taking advantage of a season-ending injury to Chet Holmgren before any real basketball had been played. He finished just outside the top 250 in standard leagues, averaging 5.9 points, 5.0 rebounds and 0.6 steals. With Holmgren now fully healthy and slated to assume the starting center role, the short-term outlook for Williams is far from positive. It is likely he will remain in the rotation, although there is almost no way he exceeds the 18.9 minutes per game he saw last season. Given what we know, he should only be considered in very deep formats.
A two-year big out of Arkansas, Williams was selected by the Thunder with the 34th overall pick in the 2022 Draft. He's a dirty-work player and solid defender, but his athleticism is a question, as is his shooting. OKC is an excellent place to develop, but Williams may spend a lot of time in the G League. In Summer League, he averaged 3.6 points, 5.6 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 0.6 steals in 18.1 minutes.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Coach not worried about shooting
COklahoma City Thunder
November 25, 2025
Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault said he's not concerned about Williams' poor shooting to open the season, Justin Martinez of The Oklahoman reports.
ANALYSIS
"He's just a total team guy," Daigneault said. "He does all of the things that are investments in the team. He's a great ball mover. He's a great screen setter. He's a great communicator. He's a great block-out rebounder who takes charges. He does all of the dirty work that teams need, and he embraces that. I think that's one of the reasons he has such respect in the locker room. It's because of his commitment to those things. Guys don't take that for granted when it comes to him." Williams is hitting 34.5 percent from the field and 30.7 percent on three-pointers this season, but he continues to maintain a decent role with the second unit with 18.5 minutes per contest.
