The 6-foot-5 guard averaged 12.0 points, 4.1 assists, 2.8 rebounds and 1.1 steals in 23.4 minutes for Ratiopharm Ulm last season. The lefty is an excellent playmaker, with passing being his best skill. With his above-average height, almost every type of pass is in his arsenal, and he makes reads with ease. Saraf drives often, focusing on downhill moves and change of direction rather than shifting left to right on the perimeter. He pulls up with confidence from the mid-range and has a solid form that could lead to improved three-point shooting as he continues to develop. Considering Saraf's passing talent, he should be able to function as a floor general, with his size potentially allowing him to play multiple positions, which could be further expanded if he develops a more consistent three-point shot. The Nets selected Saraf with the No. 26 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. There's upside for Saraf as a rookie, though he's in a logjam with Egor Demin and Nolan Traore - two other rookie point guards. That's in addition to a whole slew of wing players with muddy roles. But if Saraf can establish himself as the best of the group, minutes are available. Read Past Outlooks
$Signed a two-year, $5.91 million contract with the Nets in July of 2025. Contract includes $3.17 million team option for 2027-28.
Personal Bio/PreCareer Summary
The 6-foot-5 guard started playing professionally at 16 years old. He began with Elitzur Netanya of the second-division Israeli Basketball National League before going to the Israeli Premier League in the summer of 2023. Behind 10.7 points, 3.7 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 1.0 steals per game, Ben Saraf was named the Israeli League Premier Rising Star. In the summer of 2024, he signed with Ratiopharm Ulm of the Basketball Bundesliga. In 2024, he also led the 2024 FIBA U18 EuroBasket tournament in scoring and was named the MVP. In his most recent full season with Ratiopharm Ulm, Saraf averaged 12.3 points, 4.3 assists, 2.6 rebounds and 1.1 steals with 46/29/73 shooting splits. The lefty is an excellent playmaker, with passing being his best skill. With his above-average height, almost every type of pass is in his arsenal and he makes reads with ease. Saraf drives often, focusing on downhill moves and change of direction rather than shifting left to right on the perimeter. He pulls up with confidence from the mid-range and has a solid form that could lead to improved 3-point shooting as he develops. Considering Saraf's passing talent, he should be able to function as a floor general wherever he lands in the draft. His size could allow him to play multiple positions, which could be opened up further if he develops a more consistent 3-ball. That versatility is valuable and provides a potential pathway to minutes on a variety of teams. Saraf could draw comparisons to Elfrid Payton or Manu Ginobili.

December 5, 2025
Saraf provided 12 points (4-7 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 3-3 FT), two rebounds, two assists, one block and three steals across 24 minutes during Thursday's 123-110 loss to Utah.
ANALYSIS Saraf has carved out a role off Brooklyn's bench over the past four games after missing roughly two weeks due to a left ankle sprain. The results have been up and down for the rookie guard, as he set a season high in points Thursday against the Jazz but also committed a team-high five turnovers. He's averaging 8.8 points, 3.3 assists, 1.5 steals, and 1.3 rebounds in 21.5 minutes per game during that four-game span.

Fernandez talks him up
GBrooklyn Nets
October 6, 2025
Saraf made a strong impression on head coach Jordi Fernandez in Saturday's preseason win over Hapoel Jerusalem, Brian Lewis of the New York Post reports.
ANALYSIS "He plays like a vet. He was good with the ball taking care of the ball, which at times in camp it was something he hasn't been as good at," Fernandez said. "With five fouls, that's the thing that he's going to clean up a little bit more. But I was very, very happy even though he had those fouls early in the game, his mind was in the game and he kept playing and he was not really affected by it. So it tells you who he is, how mature he is at his age. He's just going to keep getting better." With Egor Demin sidelined by his foot issue, Saraf notably drew the start over Nolan Traore and Kobe Bufkin and made the most of his opportunity. Saraf is worth monitoring closely during the preseason.
