Max Clark

It rarely works out this way, but Clark has been almost exactly as advertised in pro ball since the Tigers selected him with the No. 3 overall pick in 2023. He has four plus tools: hit, run, arm, field. That leaves the power, which has always been his weakest tool, but he slugged .439 with a .187 ISO as a 20-year-old at Double-A to finish off the 2025 season, so he's no slouch in that department, and he figures to maximize his power potential due to the quality of his hit tool. All told, Clark slashed .271/.403/.432 with 14 home runs, 19 steals, a 17.6 percent walk rate and a 16.9 percent strikeout rate in 111 games split between High-A and Double-A. The lefty-hitting Clark had a .333 slugging percentage in 105 at-bats against southpaws, but he still got on base at a .406 clip and his defense should keep him in the lineup, although perhaps in the bottom third, against same-handed pitching. Clark stole 19 bases on 21 attempts after stealing 29 bases on 33 attempts in 2024, so while his success rate was stellar, he didn't run as much in 2025 as most would have expected. He has never played at Triple-A, but after logging a 135 wRC+ and 16.7 percent strikeout rate at Double-A, Clark may not need much time at Triple-A before the Tigers hand him the keys in center field.
