Best WNBA Bets Today: Sunday, August 31

Los Angeles Sparks -9 (-110)

DraftKings Sportsbook, 11:10 a.m. CT

Kirien Sprecher: Washington is playing the second night of a back-to-back set and got run out of the gym by the Valkyries on Saturday, losing 99-62. That loss eliminated the Mystics from the postseason, so it'd be surprising if they had the energy or morale for a bounce-back victory. The Sparks, on the other hand, need to get hot to sneak into the playoffs, and a loss to Washington would be detrimental. With more to play for, I like the Sparks to win by double figures Sunday.

Golden State Valkyries +2 (-110)

FanDuel Sportsbook, 11:20 a.m. CT

Kirien Sprecher: Golden State is coming off a dominating victory over the Mystics on Saturday and will look to stay hot during the second leg of a back-to-back set. Currently sitting in the 8th seed, the Valkyries would jump to the 6th seed with a win, and vice versa for the Fever. There's a lot at stake Sunday for both teams, and neither will be at full strength, though it appears Golden State may be getting some reinforcements. The Valkyries have risen to the occasion more often than not during games like this in their inaugural season, and I expect that to continue behind their Ballhalla fans on Sunday night.
