Hjelde (Achilles) featured one half with the youth team in Thurday's 1-0 win against Sporting CP, confirming he is back fit moving forward.

Hjelde (Achilles) is expected to play with Sunderland U21 in Thursday's clash against Sporting Lisbon, coach Regis Le Bris said in the press conference. "He will be involved in tonight's Under-21 fixture against Sporting Lisbon at the Stadium of Light."

Hjelde (Achilles) is back on the grass but won't be an option before the October international break, manager Regis Le Bris told media during his pre-match press conference Thursday. "Leo is now running."

Hjelde (achilles) will remain out for the time being due to injury, coach Regis Le Bris said in the press conference, according to the Northern Echo. "Leo has struggled with his Achilles and will be a bit longer than expected as well. He had the surgery for both (of his Achilles) and worked hard last season to be connected with the squad, even if it was painful. But now, like Dennis, he has to rest completely to be able to connect with the squad again later."

Hjelde will miss the start of the 2025/26 season while rehabbing from an Achilles injury, the club announced Friday.
