Sent on loan
GTrabzonspor
September 11, 2025
Onana has been loaned to Trabzonspor from Manchester United, according to his parent club.
ANALYSIS
Onana is out of Manchester for the season after not appearing once to begin the season, possibly ending his time with the club after a woeful run with the Red Devils. He will now head to Turkey to join Trabzonspor, where he will hope to turn his career around, once thought of as one of the rising goalkeepers in the world. He appeared 102 times with United and may not add to that total after the loan, with the club going a new direction after bringing in Senne Lammens.

Not expected to stay in Turkey
GTrabzonspor
March 7, 2026
Trabzonspor isn't expected to pay the 40 million euros required to sign Onana, meaning he'd have to return to Manchester United in the summer, according to The Manchester Evening News.
ANALYSIS
Onana has spent the 2025/26 season on loan at Trabzonspor, but the Turkish club doesn't have the money -- or the desire -- to pay the 40 million euros required to sign the Cameroon international on a permanent basis. With that in mind, Onana would have to return to Manchester United in the summer, but the Red Devils would be open to find him another team to play for in 2026/27. Senne Lammens is locked in as the team's long-term starter until further notice.
