Vanderson suffered a thigh injury in Friday's clash against Paris Saint-Germain and is set to undergo surgery to address the issue, which is expected to sideline him for about three months and will likely prevent him from playing in the 2026 World Cup, according to Cahe Mota of Globo.

Vanderson is expected to undergo thigh surgery in the coming days after picking up the injury against Paris Saint-Germain in the last match. It's a massive blow for both Monaco and Brazil, as the right wing-back will likely need at least three months to recover, which would rule him out for the rest of the season and potentially put his place at the 2026 World Cup in jeopardy. Vanderson recorded two assists, 15 chances created, 43 tackles and 33 interceptions in 22 appearances across all competitions this season for the Diagonale. Jordan Teze and Krepin Diatta are the leading candidates to step in on the right flank if the surgery is confirmed by the club.
