Kimmich returned to the starting lineup after an ankle injury that had sidelined him from the XI for the previous four matches. He dictated possession from midfield, completing 130 accurate passes, including 14 long balls and created two chances. The midfielder also delivered his strongest defensive performance of the season, recording seven defensive contributions with four tackles, two interceptions and one clearance.
