McKinney defeated Slava Borshchev via submission (guillotine choke) at 0:55 of Round 1 at UFC 317 on Saturday in Las Vegas.

McKinney is the most dangerous one-round fighter in the company. After that, it gets dicey, but if he's able to get you out of there immediately like he did here against Borshchev, it's a joy to watch. Knowing full well Slava can't wrestle a lick, McKinney sprinted across the octagon, landed an immediate takedown, and quickly set about trying to submit his opponent. Borshchev fought it hard, but it was over just 55 seconds in. McKinney has won four of five dating back to August 2023, with all four wins coming via first-round stoppage. None of the four lasted longer than 2:01.

This was the former, which isn't a surprise given Terrance was the biggest favorite on the card at -600. He grabbed a guillotine following a Hadzovic takedown attempt and managed to roll his way into full mount. A few brutal blows later, the fight was over. Now 6-4 in his first 10 UFC bouts, McKinney isn't a legitimate contender because of his non-existent gas tank, but he's sure capable of fun, standout performances such as this one.
