Ruchala lost to William Gomis via unanimous decision (27-30, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Paris.
ANALYSIS
Making his UFC debut, Ruchala, a former KSW standout, hung tough for about a round before Gomis began to take over. Ruchala managed to land a pair of takedowns for 4:36 worth of control time, but he did next to nothing with his positional advantage, finishing with just 34 significant strikes landed on 96 attempts. You aren't going to consistently beat guys at this level with that type of low output, especially when you spend so much time in a dominant position. He'll look to rebound his next time out.

Ruchala is scheduled to compete against William Gomis in a featherweight fight at UFC Paris on Sept. 6, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
