Brahimaj lost to Punahele Soriano via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Houston.
ANALYSIS
Coming off three straight stoppage wins, including two in the first round, this was the type of pick 'em fight the 33-year-old Brahimaj had to win in order to continue to climb the ranks at 170 pounds. He got off to a good start, nearly doubling Soriano up on the feet in Round 1, before things fell apart. Brahimaj landed a grand total of seven significant strikes over the course of the final 10 minutes, which negated his three successful takedowns. All told, Ramiz is 5-4 in his first nine UFC bouts and figures to hover around the .500 mark moving forward.

Set for UFC Houston
WelterweightUFC
January 18, 2026
Brahimaj will take on Punahele Soriano in a welterweight matchup at UFC Houston on Feb. 21, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Brahimaj has been on a roll of late, winning three fights in a row, all via stoppage, with two bonus-winning efforts included in that stretch. He now faces Soriano, who is on a three-fight winning streak of his own and has a significant edge in volume striking. Brahimaj will likely look to get this fight to the mat, and while Soriano's 40 percent takedown defense looks poor on the surface, that number is skewed by a 2022 fight in which he was taken down 11 times, and he's since made improvements in that area.
Second straight submission win
WelterweightUFC
October 4, 2025
Brahimaj defeated Austin Vanderford via submission (guillotine choke) at 2:22 of Round 2 at UFC 320 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
It's a second straight upset submission win for Brahimaj in the span of less than five months. Ramiz was predictably struggling with both the stand-up and wrestling game of Vanderford, but he managed one big flurry on the feet early in Round 2 which turned the tide of the fight. He landed a beautiful head kick was necessitated a sloppy shot from his opponent in which Vanderford left his neck exposed. Brahimaj took full advantage. It's hard to get excited about the 32-year-old moving forward simply because he has just a single knockout win in his professional career, but Brahimaj's submission skills are legit.
Ready to face Vanderford
WelterweightUFC
August 8, 2025
Brahimaj will face Austin Vanderford in a welterweight bout at UFC 320 on Oct. 4, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Brahimaj delivered a dominant performance in his most recent trip to the octagon, defeating Billy Goff via submission in the first two minutes of the opening round of their fight May 31. Brahimaj has fought just four times since February 2022, but he's won three of them, and he'll look to extend their positive run of results against an opponent who has only one UFC fight in his resume.
Dominates in upset victory
WelterweightUFC
May 31, 2025
Brahimaj defeated Billy Goff via technical submission (guillotine choke) at 3:16 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Brahimaj and Goff were supposed to each face different opponents on this card, yet when each of the respective fights fells through, they were matched up against each other. It worked out swimmingly for the former, who dominated as a +300 underdog. Not wanting to mess around with the power of Goff, Ramiz landed a takedown moments after the opening bell rang and was never threatened from there. The guillotine choke which put Goff away was as beautiful an attempt as you'll ever see, and would go on to earn him a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus. Brahimaj has fought just four times since February 2022, but he's won three of them.
New opponent scheduled
WelterweightUFC
May 25, 2025

ANALYSIS
