No-shows UFC debut

Tobias lost to Diyar Nurgozhay via unanimous decision (27-30, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC 326 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
It was a horrendous performance from Tobias in his UFC debut as a -175 favorite. Facing an opponent in Nurgozhay that had been submitted in each of his first two bouts with the company, the Brazilian spent most of the fight hopelessly out of range of his opponent. He landed just 39-of-101 significant strikes. Tobias did land two huge shots late in Round 2 which eventually allowed him to get to mount, but he lost the position and was nearly finished himself moments later. There was literally nothing positive to take from this effort. Tobias figures to be fighting for his job his next time out considering how bad this effort was.

Dominates to earn contract
Light HeavyweightUFC

Tobias defeated Jair de Oliveira via submission (rear-naked choke) at 3:46 of Round 1 at Dana White's Contender Series on Tuesday. After the show, he was one of five fighters to be officially awarded a UFC contract.
ANALYSIS
Tobias made the most of a five-and-a-half-inch reach advantage, stinging his fellow countryman with hard shots every time he tried to enter the pocket. Perhaps seeing a path of lesser resistance, "Bipolar" took his opponent down and scored with ground and pound before the choke presented itself. While Tobias appears to be a good athlete with a well-rounded skill set, we will need to see how he responds to pressure from high-level opponents who have similar height and reach measurements. He moved to 14-1-0 in professional MMA as a result of the victory.
