Cruises as biggest favorite on card
Abdul-Malik defeated Antonio Trocoli via submission (guillotine choke) at 1:09 of Round 1 at UFC 323 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
North of a -1500 favorite by the time the fight kicked off, Abdul-Malik did exactly what you're supposed to do in that situation. He dominated Trocoli from start to finish and got him out of there in an instant. Mansur turned an early takedown and a few seconds in mount into the standing guillotine choke which ended the proceedings. Of course, a dominant win over Trocoli tells us less than nothing about Abdul-Malik moving forward. The 28-year-old Maryland native improves to 3-0-1 in the UFC, with all three wins coming via stoppage.

Next fight booked
Abdul-Malik will take on Antonio Trocoli in a middleweight bout at UFC 323 in Las Vegas on Dec. 6, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Abdul-Malik is coming off a win-turned-draw against Cody Brundage. He remains undefeated in the UFC at 2-0-1, but he'll be looking to get back in the win column against Trocoli, who has struggled since signing with the UFC, getting off to an 0-2 start. The two fighters were initially set to square off in February, but that bout was cancelled.

Win overturned to draw
Abdul-Malik's win over Cody Brundage on June 14 has been overturned to a draw following Brundage's successful appeal with the Georgia Athletic and Entertainment Commission, Damon Martin of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Abdul-Malik was initially awarded a victory after an accidental clash of heads led to his stoppage of Brundage, and after replay review, the referee sent the fight to the scorecards rather than call a no-contest. The end result was a unanimous technical decision in favor of Abdul-Malik, but apparently there exists a Georgia bylaw that says "no incomplete round will be scored." The commission applied that law, with the scorecards then landing at 19-19, 19-19 and 20-18 -- effectively a majority draw. Abdul-Malik falls from 9-0 to 8-0-1 due to the ruling.

Wins despite fluky finish
Abdul-Malik defeated Cody Brundage via unanimous technical decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Atlanta.
ANALYSIS
Here was a rare example of the old "unanimous technical decision" ending. The second-largest favorite on the card at -900, Abdul-Malik was mostly underwhelming, just like his in his third-round knockout win over Nick Klein in February. This fight looked like it was heading to a close decision, at which point Abdul-Malik landed some massive blows in Round 3, eventually securing the stoppage. It was determined afterwards that an accidental clash of heads led to the start of the sequence, so the frame was scored until that point, with Mansur coming out on top. The 27-year-old is now 8-0 as a professional with eight stoppage wins, but there's clearly work to do, as we saw this evening.

ANALYSIS
Abdul-Malik, who is coming off a knockout win over Nick Klein in February, will face off against Cody Brundage in June. The 27-year-old Maryland native, who is 8-0 in his professional career and 2-0 with the UFC, will look to stay perfect in June.
