Finished in UFC debut
Light HeavyweightUFC
March 7, 2026
Fernandez lost to Rodolfo Bellato via TKO (punches) at 2:42 of Round 1 at UFC 326 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
It was a disastorious UFC debut for Fernandez on the heels of his 15-second knockout win on Dana White's Contender Series in October. Things started well for the newcomer. He landed a big knee up the middle seconds after the opening bell rang, in addition to a few other notable blows. Yet one short left hook from Bellato sent Fernandez sprawling to the mat and he was unable to recover. The 30-year-old New Jersey native, who still has just seven professional fights under his belt, needs to rebound his next time out.

Fighting Bellato in March
Light HeavyweightUFC
January 8, 2026
Fernandez will take on Rodolfo Bellato at UFC 326 in Las Vegas on March 7, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Fernandez will take a perfect 6-0 professional record into his UFC debut in March. The 30-year-old American will have to overcome disadvantages in both height and reach compared to the younger Brazilian fighter. With five of his six professional victories coming via KO/TKO, Fernandez will likely be looking to end this one early, though he will have to remain wary of Bellato's stopping power as well (7-2 record in KO/TKO finishes).
Earns contract in seconds
Light HeavyweightUFC
October 8, 2025
Fernandez defeated Rafael Pergentino via TKO (punches) at 0:15 of Round 1 at Dana White's Contender Series on Tuesday. After the show, he was one of six fighters to be officially awarded a UFC contract.
ANALYSIS
Fernandez is an athletic light heavyweight with fast hands, but it's tough to glean much from a performance this short. It looks for all the world like the 30-year-old got a showcase opportunity here, as two of Pergentino's six wins came against a fighter whose only two MMA bouts were against him. Fernandez improved to 6-0-0 in professional MMA as a result of the victory
